Wrath is the Emperor's buttslave. Like Scourge, he couldn't handle fighting even a weakened Vitiate. The Hero killed him.

Wrath didn't fight Emperor's Voice, rather Sel-Makor.

This isn't the case.

That host was a contested one, neither being properly possessed by Emperor and not Sel-Makor since both were attempting to gain absolute control over it. However, Sel-Makor had advantage in this struggle because of the setting of the event and nature of the host and prevented Emperor from taking full control of this host during the ongoing struggle between them, otherwise, Emperor would have dealt with Sel-Makor on his own accord. In addition, due to setting, Emperor was finding it virtually impossible to leave this host and abandon this fruitless struggle. Therefore, Emperor's Wrath II was called upon by the Emperor during this struggle to aid him in breaking free from it and when the former confronted the "contested" host, Sel-Makor had gained its control.

It is also possible that Emperor helped Emperor's Wrath II to overcome Sel-Makor.

People are wrongly perceiving this clash as a battle between Emperor and his Wrath II. It wasn't.

Right, Sel Makor was unable to possess Vitiate as the latter was keeping him at bay whilst trapped on Voss.

When the Wrath arrived, however, the Emperor lowered his defenses and was fully possessed by Sel--And he was defeated. Nothing suggests otherwise.

Exactly.

Wrath fought Sel-Makor at this moment, not Emperor. The latter deliberately aided Wrath to overcome Sel-Makor.

I'm not saying he fought Vitiate, but it still stands that Sel Makor wielded Vitiate's tremendous power, and the Wrath still prevailed.

Nothing implies that Sel-Makor wielded Emperor's tremendous power during this confrontation. A possessed host is just an empty vessel, the possessor brings his own power in to the host while possessing it.

When Emperor possesses a host, it is labeled as Voice, and it doesn't have any power of its own; it have the power of Emperor after possession. This narrative logic is true for all possessions in Star Wars.

Nonetheless, Sel-Makor was an incredibly powerful and dangerous entity and overcoming it in single combat doesn't cheapens Wrath's accomplishments. The nature of this confrontation confuses people however as to whom he dealt with and it wasn't Emperor.

Sel-Makor may have bluffed to scare off Emperor's Wrath II.

Except that the possessed doesn't necessarily inherit the full power of the possessor--Such was the case with Tavion Aximis and Marka Ragnos.

The reason why Vitiate is an exception is because he enhances his hosts via alchemically before possessing them.

If it was just some Voss mystic possessed by Sel Makor, the latter wouldn't have specifically noted how powerful this host was.
