All the time I hear people give credit to Cable cuz he's got a nasty powerset...but they usually say he drags down the Cable/DP series with his dialogue.
Well now I haven't really read much of the comics with Cable, however the reason as to why I read Cable and Deadpool is because of Deadpool, I couldn't care less about Cable.
Well let's put it this way... if he didn't have good powers I don't think many people would really care about him... and even with his powers I still don't really care about him...
Though i haven't bee keeping up with Cable & Deadpool, Fabian's been doing some good stuff with Cable there. And i'm enjoying Carey's take on the character.
I like the "better worlds are possible, I've seen them" sort of interest to his character. When he tryed to stop Cap from fighting Civil War because he knew how it would end because he'd been there. I like that facet of his character alot.
His old "I'm a badass Blagh! Shoot the guns, Shoot the guns!" personality is boring as hell. It's almost satire in action, really.
Well. At least Cable's got more shit working for him than Drax. Cable's admitted that Apocalypse is sometimes necessary, he even brought him back from the dead recently.
Drax is just a killing machine that has now served his purpose, though I'm interested in where they take Drax now that he's straight-mudered Thanos.
I liked the earlier version of Cable. I liked the whole mercenary bit with X-force and he wasnt too powerful because of the virus in his body. I dont care too much about the latest version, ruler of his own nation, too powerful. I guess I like my characters simple which is why I dont care for cosmic beings or Iron Man in his current persona. Superman is another example of a way too powerful character.

I think the whole Messiah complex thingy he had going on in Cable and Deadpool was good (Especially issues 7-12) for about the first 20 or so issues then it got boring real fast
I didn't really care much for the old Cable. Partially because I think they made him seem too strong. He had laser guns from the future, that shouldn't put him on the same level as most of the x-men. They also completely overdid his physical strength.
I'm not too fond of the current Cable either. The one we had during Onslaught and The twelve saga was pretty okay.
