I actually noticed this, and hoped that in Extended ROTK they had a shot where they showed the Wraith actually hitting the ground or something with the beast..but I doubt they will..
I also love that one shot at the end where the Nazgul gets NAILED with the flying piece of rock from Mount Doom. Such an awesome shot.
Sadly, when I watched the scene....it indeed looked like the Eagles were winning the battle...
