I like Peter David's run on Hulk
Thats right. I like all of it. From beginning to end. I think Professor Hulk was awesome, and brought much depth to the character. I especially enjoyed the Pantheon as well, and Banner's views on everything.
My question is, why do people not enjoy it?

People don't like it? It seems to be a pretty well regarded run to me...

Anyone who dislikes his long run on Hulk is out to lunch.
Peter David was THE definitive Hulk writer. This is not open to debate.

Yeah seriously I enjoyed it, I wasn't keen on most of the Patheon but that was moot.

I like Peter David in general. His Captain Marvel and Supergirl were top notch.

If David wasn't the best Hulk writer, then who was?

Peter David is indeed a good writer. He even wrote good Spider-Man stories.

Not to mention he wrote awesome:
Fallen Angel
X-Factor
Aquaman
Supergirl
Madrox Mini
Ka-zar
Spiderman
Spiderman 2099 (yeah, I said it)
EVERYTHING HE TOUCHES TURNS TO GOLD
I love that he's not afraid of change. That's what makes him so great.
