Can it be that Rip Hunter doesn't know about Hypertime?
That wouldn't make sense, because in the Kingdom series.
Rip knew more about Hypertime than anyone (he was the one describing it)

This is interesting,
apparently DC's prime Earth can collapse the entire Multiverse if it's destroyed,
just like Marvel's 616 Reality:

Only difference is that in DC the Antimatter Universe survives,
in Marvel nothing does.

A lone Monitor travels to the Source Wall
which is located at the border of each of the 52 Universes
to commune with it:

Ok this is the complete History of the DC Reality from COIE to Now,
according to DC's Countdown.
I'm not going to add a single comment,
yall enjoy this, it's a good read,
and it gives us a well defined understanding of the DC Cosmology.
It seems that several events in DC's History have been Retconned ...
so I suggest yall go through every page ...
and enjoy the Updated Info.
