Just when you thought he was done doing punisher on the MAX series Garth Ennis is back doing more punisher for this 6 part series under the Marvel Knights Label
Got Part 1 not alot happens but its mostly Ennis setting the story up
Have not read that issue but I thought the punisher christmas special was awesome. What Punisher did to that mother was horrifying/ badass all at the same time
Ennis gave Punisher far more depth than any other writer ever has in Frank's entire existence and every story during Ennis's run served as some of the most powerful street-level stories ever written
And that's not even going into his one-shot Punisher stories, which were even better.
If you look at welcome back Frank the reason why he hunts criminals is because hes a pyschopath whos idea of heaven is killing criminals in fact he hates criminals so much he wouldnt want to wipe out crime instead he just wants to kill criminals forever.
Not saying that other Punishers were not crazy or I agree with what he does but at least he did it because he wanted to avenge his family and help other people.
Were refering to 616 Punisher by the way. Why has Einnis given Frank Castle more depth? I suspect the reason why you think that Einnis Punisher is the best because he is the most crazy. You've read alot of Punisher right?

But Frank is crazy. Sure, his family dies.... but killing.... well, everybody who ever committed a crime is not even slightly a rational response to that.
This wasn't really apparent in his original appearances, but, it's impossible to argue that Frank is a rational, sane individual. "Killing all criminals" doesn't help people, and he's not making life better for anyone.
Ennis just made it obvious that in order for Frank Castle to be the Punisher, he HAS to be insane in some way.
He doesnt kill everybody thats commited a crime...Punisher didnt kill a gangbanger when he found out he had an elderly mother to look after. He also decided not to kill a juvenile and told him to 'go back to school or i'll kill you'. Hell he even decided not to kill the Kingpin because he was afraid that a gangwar would be so bad that too many people would be killed in the crossfire. Hes also made a deal with a gangsters because he sees that in the long run it would be better instead of just shooting him. He also became head of the Geraci crime family but to be quite frank that seems out of character to me.
Hell the whole reason why he kills criminals is because he thinks that they law wont do anything, which is what happened to the criminals that killed his family. Not saying its ok to break the law but to say that his response isnt rational is complete and utter nonsense and it seems you really dont know what you're talking about.
Sending The Joker back to Arkham Asylum isnt helping anybody either at least in Punishers case he would take care of him and that would be the end of that.
Thats complete and utter nonsense. The whole reason why he does what he does was because his family was killed by gangsters and the laws wasnt enough to stop them. Hell im not saying I would break the law or its ok but you think that after going through something like that taking the law into your own hand is an insane response? One should strive to work with the law and use the system to improve it and I dont even think that what he does is really going to eliminate crime either but I certainly dont think its an insane response.

1. Its not insane you just dont agree with the point of view (Wether its the right thing to do is another issue).
2. If you had actually bothered to read my post properly or any Punisher apart from Einnis you would know he also does it to help other people.
Dodging important key issues rasied in a discussion and repeating what you said before is sure way to 'win' a debate.
