Champion (Power Gem) vs Validus (Pre Crisis)

I hate using Pre Crisis characters, but I'm having doubts that the most current validus would be enough.

Fight takes place on a super durable battle planet.

Who wins?

Validus.
Stronger than Superman, impervious, mental lightning.
Champion would be steamrolled 9 times out of 10. He's the better fighter. But Validus is s beast.

with the power gem means his strength and general power would be LIMITLESS !!! Validus has no fight skill, just brute force, Champion would destroy him and laugh about it.

Potentially limitless, not limitless. Very big difference.

PC Kryptonians were KO'ing themselves just by running into Validus, who barely even noticed it. Champion will, by no stretch of the imagination, not be doing a thing to him except getting blood stains on whatever Validus happens to be wearing.

Characters job to other characters for sake of plot all of the time. PC Superman's best feat is above Validus' best feat, so we should keep the Kryptonians out of this, or if we use them in an attempt to prove a point, it should be done to a minimal. Validus, is not a Kryptonian, or PC Superman. What has Val done that the Champion could not do? Tear a planet apart with his bare hands? Champion could effortlessly do that as well if you think about it.

Wasn't Drax using the power gem KOed?

Even if the gem gives Juggernaut level durability, the gem has a tendency to get dislodged during fights. Plus, Champion can't fly, so it's pretty much bfr if Validus knocks him off the planet (And out of the solar system, like he did to Superboy).

Champion never humbled PC Superman, Mon-El, and Ultra-Boy like sick children.

The Champion was also never in a comic with them from what I know.

Drax? Are you being serious? How can you compare someone with the intelligence of a cat to someone that possesses the power primordial? The Power Gem is tapped mentally. Drax could only manage to draw power from it subconsciously. There is a big difference. The loss of the gems of power from being ripped off is also PIS from what I understood. Not to mention that Validus wouldn't really possess the intelligence to even consider this course of action. What stops the champion from punching Validus out into deep space? Maybe a force field should be placed up so that BFR is not an option. Yeah let's do that. No BFR.

You are being willfully obtuse.

When has Champion ever faced a group as powerful as PC Superman, Mon-El and Ultra-Boy?

When has Champion defeated a group as powerful as PC Superman, Mon-El and Ultra-Boy?

I'm not being obtuse, I have no doubt, that if the Champion were in those books, that he would have done the same thing to them. Not to mention that Validus shouldn't have ever been able to lay a hand on them. PC characters have really high highs, and then they have their lows which outright goes against their higher end feats. You can not claim that Validus can sneeze, and threaten a galaxy or more. You seeing me as being obtuse, is because you are having trouble scaling, which is why you should not lean too heavily on what PC Superman was capable of, at his best.

The thing here is that the Champ has a lot more combat expertise than Validus does. I think people are underestimating the Power gem, and the Champions ability as a combatant.

Didn't look so good against Surfer and Thanos.

The only time he's really been written as the be all, end all fighter is in She Hulk's comic, and the way Shulk beat him was so bad it made everyone Champion beat look pathetic by proxy...

If I recall Champion didn't have the Power Gem on that occasion. Although I may be wrong.

And the Thanos fight wasn't necessarily bad.

It wasn't bad at all. Thanos' shields withstood a massive amount of power, from the Champions fists. Just consider how one of his punches were more than likely capable of one shot destroying the planet that they were on with ease.
