Lol, I love how he starts with "W spent all our money on wars and not paying the debt" and went on by saying "Dem Republicans are stopping me from saving the countryz".
I think he has his re-election on his mind, but I like his democratic approach of harassing congressman.
I actually quite like this speech, considering the context of the nation and the world, but he's still a puppet with no real solutions except to meet the needs of his money masters.

He won't though. Just like every single person in US politics at the moment he'd rather play petty party politics in order to set up for the blame game at election time than actually fix issues.
Debt ceiling will be raised again, America is the land of living on credit, why should the government be any different. You max out all your credit cards, easy, get another and use that one to pay off minimum dues for the others. A happy circle.
IMO, they should raise the "if we go past this amount we're doomed" limit to a 'gazillion' USD and we won't have to do these scares anymore.

I feel it's likely the GOP will go ahead with their plan on making the US default while making massive personal fortunes off of shorting the dollar during a financial collapse and will then use the ensuing chaos to impeach the president and strong arm the states into passing some fascist constitutional amendment.

What to do now that we have no doubt that Republicans and the Tea Party are a cult and really are that stupid? If the debt ceiling isn't raised, the US treasury can avoid default AND missing any payments buy issuing two trillion dollar platinum coins (market value) and depositing them, the writing checks based on their value. That may still cause a downgrade in the US credit rating. At that point, if I were president I would identify every single congressman identifying with the Tea Party or shorting US treasury bonds and charge them with sedition and high treason. Maybe label them enemy combatants and let them cool down for a few months at Gitmo.

And your idea is default, followed by chaos, followed by civil war? I don't want to live in late 70's era Latin America with Michelle Bachmann and Alan West assuming the parts of Agusto Pinochet and Jorge Videla. The banksters and the rich won't suffer even as the entire banking institution collapses. They'll make a hefty sum off shorting US treasury bonds. If you don't like the control banks have the solution would be to bring back Glass-Steagal and a combination of breaking up and nationalizing the biggest savings banks, not destroying the economy and the social safety net simultaneously.
