Yeah... pretty sure it was a critical element of the entire plot and the whole point why Magneto wanted her as a weapon in the first place. Her lack of feats are irrelevant; the Phoenix has appeared exactly once whereas Magneto has feats across five full-length movies from which to draw. The Phoenix is more powerful than Magneto, it's a fact.
Does Jean kill anyone in any other way than disintegration? Seems a bit daft having bloodlust if the way she kills most people is disallowed. Either way, he's not gonna be much metal controlling when he's being thrown all over the place. He just lies on the kitchen floor like a helpless ***** when she's barely using a fraction of her power in X3.
I would say it would depend on which acts faster. Can Jean reach into Maggy's head and smoosh his brain before He can ..uh I dunno...make the Iron Rich Wheaties she had for breakfast puree her insides?

I'm a big fan of Jean but people like low ball her so bad because she got killed by wolverine, I quit sticking up for her. Wasn't worth the clown tactics people used.
Nope, he isn't. Her EMP readings clearly showcased that she was more powerful than him in the movie. Also, ripping apart matter atom by atom is a more impressive feat than lifting bridges or stadiums. All of which Phoenix could do as well, with complete ease.
But since disintegration is not allowed here, she could just prevent him from using his powers as she did with Scott.
