Yeah Darwin takes this easily..he can activate his power consciously to go on the offensive as shown in DG when he consciously made his skin sharp in order to free his friends...Darwin evolves so that he has the same properties as the magic sword in Wolverine Origins....

Darwin is the evolving boy, but he isn't much of a warrior, at least not to the extent that he could defeat Wolverine. At the same time, Wolverine couldn't do anything to kill the evolving boy, who could just evolve his skin into adamantium or some other substance, to avoid being killed by him. Stalemate.
