Well I have been hearing alot about The Silver Surfer and being almost unbeatable, so I took it apon my self to make this thread to see what people think about this match up?
if your talking about current surfer with the upgrade then we will have to wait and see what happens when he fights Tenebris and Aegis. who are equal to normal powered BIG G.
and we no what a normal powered BIG G would do to this team

Surfer's power comes directly from Big G's own. So if Surfer is that Upgraded, Then Big G is down graded. Becuz Surfer was always said to have 1% of Big G's power.

And Still Holds True. How can the Created Attain more power if not from the Creator? Galactus doesn't have infinite Energy to just go around making everyone Uber.

I'm not even sure he could take Hulk and Superman (and that's the least dynamic combination I could think of from the 4 characters placed against him).
Surfer could drain Hulk's gamma fast I guess, if Hulk doesn't continue to get enraged. but that would still require that Surfer remain stationary for a moment or two, which is enough time for the other 3 to knock him out/capture him/encase him in some exotic forcefield...
The Hulk is the least of the Surfer's concerns. This fight would be taking place primarily whilst flying.
I mean, pit the Hulk and ANYONE that the Surfer can beat against the Surfer, and the Surfer still wins....Just because he can stay away from the Hulk for long enough to beat the other character, and then deal with the Hulk. The Hulk simply isn't even a threat to the Surfer.
does the Power Cosmic emanate from Galactus or is it a force independent of Galactus, with Galactus being able to siphon it for his own needs and to grant such abilities to others as he sees fit.
if Thanos can augment himself with the Power Cosmic, it would suggest that Surfer too accesses the Power Cosmic independent of Galactus, once Galactus has made him capable of it.
still, I'm waiting till I see the Surfer T&A issue (:confused, before I posit anything as tendentious as Surfer = Galactus.
I was just demonstrating that, given Hulk would be the easiest win for Surfer, it would leave him exposed to attack by the rest of the team.
Surfer could fight this team using other strategies but still, he's fighting them all not sequentially and so I just don't see him even fluking one win out of ten.
the best strategy for him I can see is to get away fast ... light years. then wait for Superman to chase, pick off Superman as he comes at him, then try and blitz GL whilst projecting illusions and stuff to distract Thor... even then it's almost impossible that GL won't be able to keep Surfer so distracted that Thor/Hulk wallops him while he's not looking...

GL can stalemate Surfer on his own. ANd GL's don't really get blitzed. Thier Auto SHields see to that. Also, why would Superman be the first one to Reach Surfer? GL and Thor have faster space traveling SPeed than Superman.
I've never seen Thor travel at Surfer-esque speeds. don't recall him having that ability.
Superman's the one with the Saturn and back in minutes feat, so it stands to reason that he'd be the one chasing Surfer.
as for the GL stalemate thing... create a thread and see what arguments come up. I'm not sure if any GL could really hold up against Surfer, one on one, for very long. the range of powers that the Surfer packs, the stamina and durability are pretty awesome.
GLs used to run out of power after a while, not sure if that's changed significantly now.
