I was just reading Ultimate X-Men, and in the fight between Wolverine and Sabertooth is the Weapon X storyline Sabertooth wonders what would happen if he tried to drown Wolverine and if his healing factor would help him somehow or if it would be useless.
This got me wondering, how would you kill someone with a healing ability like Wolverine and all the others like him. Has it been done before in a comic and if so how?
Depends on how good their healin factor is. Wolvie can just be shot in the eye and the bullet will destroy his brain. He aint recoverin from that. People like deadpool though, they have to be completly destroyed (now hes immortal though)
Then why has no one tried it before? What would happen if you deprive them of air or gave them a power dose of poison/gas/radaiation, there has to be some limit to thier healing powers.
deadpul gettin his skin burned off isnt all that special... wolverine had a nuke dropped ON HIM, which burned him down to pretty much his skeleton... he survived fine enough to stand up and fight in THE NEXT ISSUE which took place a few hours later...
wolverine and sabretooth would have to be dropped and held down in either a superheated molten material or a plasma, or have direct contact with antimatter.
deadpool can be killed. the problem is that he'll completely heal up and revive a few hours later.

Healing and regeneration are confused all too often. if you can heal a wound on a body part, cool. But if you can grow back that body part after it's loss, that's another matter.
If someone can JUST heal. Then just give them a wound that is unhealable. Like bullet to the heart or brain. Coz healing factor is making them no different from you and I other than, they can cut their finger and have it heal in minutes/seconds instead of hours. So give them a wound that would kill them instantly and it's over.
Well if Wolverine JUST had healing and not regeneration (which he appears to have), then a shot to the heart would kill him. Stops pumping blood to the brain before he heals and then he's dead.
You can chop Deadpool up all you want. He will just go to Death's kingdom, get turned away and be back annoying the shit out of you again before you know it. I don't mind him being an immortal coz he doesn't have other ridiculous powers. That and if he ever died permanently I'd hate it.
Wolverine ain't SUPPOSED to have regeneration, he's SUPPOSED to have just normal healing, unless some events transpired to increase his healing to regeneration. And how the **** is a adamantium skeleton going to prevent a bullet from entering your eye? Its not, itll make the problem worse because the bullet will ricochet around in his head.
Beat them continuously so there healing factor doesnt have time to work, take them out with one fatal strike or destroy any vital organs that should do the trick
