Revamped Hulk Respect Thread
While saving the life of an innocent, scientist Bruce Banner was caught in the blast of an experimental gamma bomb that transformed him into a rampaging monster with near-limitless power. Hunted and feared by the world around him, he is the strongest there is -- he is the Incredible Hulk!
This is the Revamped Respect Thread for one of the most famous comic characters of all time. A vastly powerful physical beast, it is not so much respect that he inspires, but fear and awe. Because he is a misunderstood monster at his core, Hulk has fought everyone worth fighting with his peerless strength. Everyone.
The Hulk has manifested himself through various incarnations and out of convenience, I've decided to categorize his feats and fights by using several of his more prevalent personas: the Savage Hulk, the Gray Hulk, Professor Hulk, the Mindless Hulk and World War Hulk. The reasons for this should become more obvious as the thread progresses and explanations will follow.
Feel free to contribute but please try not to double up on scans. Use thumbnails or links wherever possible. To avoid duplication, every single scan cites an issue #. As with every respect thread, no trolling or disrespect please. All feats are canon and no alternate reality or alternate version feats will (or should) be referenced.

The Hulk's reputation is nothing less than, "The strongest there is." And few are more qualified than General Thunderbolt Ross to describe the Hulk's strength. "Those of you who do know me know that I'm not one for melodrama -- so you'll believe me when I tell you that the Hulk is arguably the most powerful -- and dangerous -- creature to ever walk the Earth!" From Rampaging Hulk #1:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...pagingHulk1.jpg
Army scientist, Dr. Zaxon describes Hulk's vast power as immeasurable. "I can hardly believe these readings! He's a veritable blast furnace of limitless organic energy! There is no way to even measure is strength!" From Tales to Astonish #78:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ect02TTA078.jpg
Doc Sampson reinforces this with his own battery of tests, "There truly seems to be no limit to the Hulk's strength!" From Incredible Hulk #228:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...spect03a228.jpg
Even the mutated super-genius, Leader, realizes, "The tests are worthless! There's no way to measure his strength! There is nothing he cannot do! I cannot build a device powerful enough to test him with!" From Tales to Astonish #73:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ing04TTA073.jpg
Henry Gyrich debriefs members of the Initiative and reveals that the Hulk is "The original omega level threat." From Avengers Initiative #5:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...Initiative5.jpg
Wolverine personally recounts, "It's like he hits ya so damn hard ya actually leave your own body. It's when ya come back that ya feel the pain. An' ya realize yer goin' toe-to-toe with a walkin' earthquake." From Wolverine Origins #28:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...neOrigins28.jpg
Siryn compares the Hulk to Juggernaut and Deadpool retorts, "The Juggernaut? Compared to the Hulk?! You oughta lay off the glue for a while, babe... it's messing up your perceptions," from Deadpool #4:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...12Deadpool4.jpg
Unfortunately, recognition of the Hulk's power can lead to equal amounts of fear. Such is evident in Reed Richards' rationalization for banishing him, "Time and time again, your anger and power have threatened the entire planet. . . . But for your sake and ours, we're sending you away." From Incredible Hulk vol.2 #92:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...spect19v292.jpg
Even his perennial foe, Namor, understood the consequences as he warns the Illuminati of Hulk's inevitable wrath in New Avengers: Illuminati #1:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...Illuminati1.jpg
That same fear led Tony Stark to specifically invent the power-inhibiting S.P.I.N. technology as revealed in Avengers Initiative #4 and the Superheavy Cell, "a liquid with programmable density" that would be like "dropping raw tonnage on their backs," as revealed in Fear Itself #7.3. But even Stark understands it would only hold him for a little while anyway:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...Initiative4.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...earItself73.jpg
Nevertheless, his oldest friend, Rick Jones, has never lost faith in the hero inside the monster, even during his rampage in World War Hulk #4:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...pect23aWWH4.jpg
(please log in to view the image)
And most of the Avengers hold a deep respect for Hulk, especially the big three: Captain America, Iron Man and Thor. From Incredible Hulk #277:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...espect05277.jpg
Thor, in particular, reveals to the Hulk (possessed by Nul the Breaker of Worlds), "I cannot beat you. You know. And I never could." From Fear Itself #5:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...FearItself5.jpg
And Cap's remarks during Avengers Vs X-Men #11 say it all, "You know I respect you and your space and I would never come to you unless I was at the end of my rope. . . . I need more firepower. . . . I know you only fight a fight worth fighting. And I'm telling you this is one of those fights. If we lose this we lose everything. Will you help us? Please."
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...pect26AvX11.jpg
The American public is also well-aware of the Hulk's power. "There is not a man or woman here who has not heard of the Incredible Hulk... who has not seen -- in newspapers, magazines, on national television news broadcasts -- the images of his power... his unmatched talent for sheer destruction." From Incredible Hulk vol.2 #2:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...espect14v22.jpg
The Hulk is famous internationally as well. The Crimson Dynamo remarks, "Though I have heard it said in awed whispers that not even Iron Man and his fellow Avengers have ever prevailed against the Hulk!" From Incredible Hulk #258:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...espect04258.jpg
Hulk's reputation isn't even limited to Earth. Aliens across the cosmos like Kurrgo recognize the Hulk's power, noting him to be the "Earth's strongest creature." From Marvel Feature #11:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...elFeature11.jpg
The Skrulls respect Hulk as "the strongest mortal on Earth," from Incredible Hulk #419:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...espect11419.jpg
The alien Toad Men refer to Hulk in awe, "It was a figure that had become legend -- a figure recognizable to any tad old enough to catch his own flies! The most feared creature in all of Toad-Man history -- the Incredible Hulk!" From Defenders vol.2 #8:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...efendersv28.jpg
Various villains have recognized the Hulk's power. Apocalypse takes great notice of the Hulk's energies as they "may give [him] power over the Celestials themselves." From Incredible Hulk #456:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...espect13456.jpg
Upon defeat, the apparition of Loki tries to convince Professor Hulk to join him with more than a hint of fear in his voice, "With my puissance, and your potential... none could gainsay us. None could stop us. None could triumph over your might." From Tales to Astonish vol.2 #1:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...spect10TTA1.jpg
The Mad Titan Thanos famously shared such trepidation when faced with the assault of a Power Gem wielding Champion, "In many ways I assume this is what it would be like battling the Terran behemoth, the Hulk. A conflict I've sought to avoid over the years." From Thanos Quest #1:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...hanosQuest1.jpg
Interdimensional rulers like Nightmare also fear the unbridled power of the Hulk. "I have sought to attack [Dr. Strange] in manipulating the dreams of others... such as the brutish Hulk! That attempt was a dismal failure -- one I fear to try again!" From Strange Tales vol.2 #3:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ngeTalesv23.jpg
The All-Father Odin recognized Hulk's power as he watched Thor's first duel with him, "My son fights valiantly, as an immortal should... against a most awesome foe!! Never have I seen him so close to defeat! Never has he faced a mortal of such incomprehensible power!" From Journey Into Mystery #112:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ect01JIM112.jpg
Even the impossibly powerful Celestials recognize the Hulk's power. Gamiel the Manipulator searched for (and found in Hulk), "evolution's crowning achievement -- the pinnacle of what your species will become..." From Marvel Monsters: Devil Dinosaur #1:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ilDinosaur1.jpg
(please log in to view the image)
The most powerful entity in Marvel ever published, the Beyonder, famously commented, "You are nothing but raging power personified! An infinity of power -- with no finite element inside!" From Secret Wars II #2:

II. SAVAGE HULK STRENGTH
Bruce Banner suffers from dissociative identity disorder. The Hulk's multiple identities are a manifestation of the rage and violence that he's repressed all his life. Chief among these other identities is the Savage Hulk persona.
(please log in to view the image)
The Savage Hulk persona typically possesses childlike levels of intelligence and curiosity. He longs for acceptance but is prone to violent fits of rage. Nevertheless, long stretches of the Savage Hulk's career have been typified by an understated crafty and cunning demeanor -- particularly his most earliest and most modern appearances. At some points, the Savage Hulk personality has even been harnessed by Banner's mind. But what remains constant in this form is that the madder he gets, the stronger he gets. And his strength feats speak for themselves.
LIFTING
Savage Hulk's capacity to lift things is nearly unrivaled in comics. He's pretty much lifted up everything you can imagine. He's lifted entire trains right off the ground in Incredible Hulk #122 and Thor #385 (this time as a tremendous bludgeon):
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ifting08122.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ng17Thor385.jpg
To give you a sense of scale as to amount of effort required for these lifting feats, here it is described that the weight of forty tons, "might as well weigh as many ounces!" From Incredible Hulk vol.2 #22:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ifting18v22.jpg
A calm Savage Hulk casually pulls along "thousands of tons" of logs in Incredible Hulk #274:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ifting14274.jpg
He's lifted up entire castles as they crumble and collapse on themselves in Incredible Hulk #108 and 120:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ifting06108.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ifting07120.jpg
Savage Hulk lifts the entire pillar of the Sacred Flame, Deviant architecture "built to withstand the power of gods," in Incredible Hulk #242:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ifting12242.jpg
By far, Savage Hulk's most famous lifting feat is holding up 150 billion tons of mountain dropped on top of him and other heroes in Secret Wars #4:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ifting16SW4.jpg
This monumental feat is retold in Spider-Man and the Secret Wars #1, where it's revealed that She-Hulk was completely exhausted when she tried to even support a fraction of the weight:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...SecretWars1.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lkLifting24.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lkLifting25.jpg
Savage Hulk has actually lifted and tossed things into outer space in Incredible Hulk #107 and Sentry #3:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ifting05107.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ng19Sentry3.jpg
Here, Savage Hulk literally picks up and throws the gigantic Fin Fang Foom straight to the Moon in Hulk Vs Fin Fang Foom #1:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...inFangFoom1.jpg
Savage Hulk can even throw the Soul Gem down through a planet's crust and mantle and deep into the very core of K'ai in Incredible Hulk #248:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ifting13248.jpg
PRESSING
The pressure Savage Hulk's strength can exert is so powerful, Savage Hulk "[a]lmost effortlessly stops the speeding train with the sheer gamma-ray power of his iron-muscled body!" From Fantastic Four #26:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...sing02FF026.jpg
Here, Savage Hulk squeezes a stone statue and pulverizes it to dust in Fantastic Four #112:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...sing03FF112.jpg
With one hand, Savage Hulk reduces even Thunderball's enchanted weapon to tiny pieces, from Defenders #19:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...Defenders19.jpg
(please log in to view the image)
Savage Hulk actually pressed sections of a building made of an alloy of adamantium with his bare hands and fashioned it into a prison for Blastaar in Marvel Team-Up #18:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...elTeam-Up18.jpg
Even an Elder of the Universe is no match as "he presses his struggle with the Gardener... to victory!" From Incredible Hulk #248:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...essing10248.jpg
When Savage Hulk presses down upon Invisible Girl's forcefields, the strain overwhelms her in Fantastic Four #25:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...sing01FF025.jpg
Savage Hulk has even pushed Unus' own forcefield entirely backwards in Marvel Fanfare #7:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...velFanfare7.jpg
Here Savage Hulk presses straight through Vector's full power in Incredible Hulk #277:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...essing11277.jpg
Even when the Leader harnesses his own strength against him, Savage Hulk can still push and power through it in Incredible Hulk #225:

II. SAVAGE HULK STRENGTH (cont'd)
FLEXING
Some of the more impressive demonstrations of Savage Hulk's strength come when he has little to no leverage and relies solely on flexing his muscles. Here, titanium bands are snapped by Hulk's flexing as if they were simple clothesline in Dazzler #7:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...g20Dazzler7.jpg
Tempered plasteel which was designed to hold the Blob ends up being so much "paper mache" in Incredible Hulk Annual #7:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ng14Annual7.jpg
Not even the Leader's plasti-thene, the material that makes up the Hulk Killer Humanoid, can contain Savage Hulk in Tales to Astonish #117:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lexing08117.jpg
Adhesive X, which has never been broken by physical force once dried, ends up being shattered by a furious Savage Hulk in Captain America #257:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...nAmerica257.jpg
(please log in to view the image)
And yes, Savage Hulk has been encased in pure diamond and completely shattered it simply by flexing in Marvel Treasury Edition #25:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ryEdition25.jpg
Savage Hulk has flexed free of various energies including those of the Darkforce in Marvel Team-Up Annual #2 and again in Incredible Hulk #258:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...m-UpAnnual2.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lexing17258.jpg
Even when those energies are powered by the Savage Hulk's own redirected strength, he can flex and power through to freedom, from Incredible Hulk #114 and again in Marvel Fanfare #47:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lexing06114.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...elFanfare47.jpg
Underwater, Savage Hulk's massive strength manifests itself as the mere act of swimming ends up creating tidal waves that devastate a coastline miles away in Incredible Hulk #145:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lkLifting10.jpg
Savage Hulk can even flex his lungs and release a breath that sends a regiment of soldiers flying, from Incredible Hulk #5:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lexing01005.jpg
How strong can his super-breath be? Here he knocks down an entire forest with one breath in Incredible Hulk #273:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lexing19273.jpg
Savage Hulk's lungs are powerful enough to swallow Mr. Fantastic's elastic form completely in Contest of Champions II #2
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...hampionsII2.jpg
Few can wrestle more fiercely than Savage Hulk. The Wrecker exclaims, "No one but Thor has ever broken my death grip before!" In Defenders #18:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...Defenders18.jpg
When angry enough, he can shrug off the combined efforts of Namor and Silver Surfer restraining him in Sub-Mariner #35:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...b-Mariner35.jpg
With a slight distraction he wrestles free from Thor and Iron Man's grip, from Hulk Smash Avengers #1:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...shAvengers1.jpg
Certainly one of his most impressive feats was wrestling with the Mighty Thor for an entire hour locked in an unwavering mercy stance in Defenders #10:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...Defenders10.jpg
Even the Immortal Hercules is astounded, "Did you -- did you just flex me off your body using your pectorals alone?" From Hulk Vs Hercules: When Titans Collide #1:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ansCollide1.jpg
Savage Hulk's strength can be planetary in scale. As the Oldstrong Caiera explains with her deep connection to the planet, "[T]his planet talks to me. And it cannot hold -- the Red King cracked the plates." That doesn't stop Hulk from using his immense strength to hold Sakaar together and shift those plates to avert worldwide catastrophe in Incredible Hulk vol.2 #102:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ting20v2102.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lkLifting21.jpg
TEARING
Much like flexing, Savage Hulk has performed enormous feats of tearing things apart. Here, he tears open the side of a mountain base in Incredible Hulk vol.2 #64:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...aring11v264.jpg
Materials like Spider-Man's webbing are as easy as paper to tear apart. And Spider-Man is painfully aware of that as it's happened numerous times in Amazing Spider-Man #14, Marvel Team-Up #126 and Web of Spider-Man #69:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ing01ASM014.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lTeam-Up126.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...Spiderman69.jpg
A titanium mesh net which also projects a gravity field is torn straight through in Incredible Hulk #245:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...earing05245.jpg
Rhino's titanium mesh armor is torn to pieces by Savage Hulk's bare hands in Incredible Hulk #.5:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...kTearing105.jpg
(please log in to view the image)
A door of reinforced titanium steel is torn through by Savage Hulk, from Incredible Hulk #246:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...earing06246.jpg
Malleable durability cannot save Mr. Fantastic from nearly being torn apart in Rampaging Hulk #5:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...pagingHulk5.jpg
And no description of mine can supplant the comic's own description here when Savage Hulk confronts a forcefield of Deviant technology powered by the Sacred Flame: "That something -- anything -- could grip hold of an energy field should be impossible! But the Hulk grabs hold just the same! The field begins to stretch like a physical thing in his grasp -- as he pushes and pulls with ever-increasing might, until -- the barrier collapses!" From Incredible Hulk #242:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...earing04242.jpg

II. SAVAGE HULK STRENGTH (cont'd)
STAMINA
Hulk has near infinite stamina. Savage Hulk can leap endless miles for a straight twenty-four hours without being tired in Fantastic Four #25:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...mina01FF025.jpg
(please log in to view the image)
Savage Hulk can swim for days tirelessly, from Incredible Hulk #261:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...tamina09261.jpg
Master Mold evaluates him and remarks on his "almost unlimited stamina" in Incredible Hulk Annual #7:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...na08Annual7.jpg
He further proves that when for 50 straight minutes, he rains nearly 3000 blows onto a mystic barrier that thwarts Dr. Strange. And he is isn't even tired in Defenders #1:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...6Defenders1.jpg
But few feats of stamina match him wrestling Thor in an epic mercy match for an entire hour in Defenders #10:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...Defenders10.jpg
He doesn't even really require sustenance -- he's hidden out on a frigate for three entire weeks in Incredible Hulk #133:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...tamina04133.jpg
STRIKING POWER
An apt measure of strength, Savage Hulk's punches are some of the most powerful in comics. Here, Savage Hulk hammers down an entire landscape despite it being supported by enormous pylons in Marvel Treasury Edition #25:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ryEdition25.jpg
Savage Hulk can even destroy an enchanted mountain conjured by a sorcerer powerful enough to challenge Hela in Defenders #68:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...Defenders68.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...kingPower15.jpg
There isn't much material in the Marvel universe that can withstand Savage Hulk's striking power. Here he reduces a ten ton titanium steel bag to small pieces with a single punch in Marvel Two-In-One Annual #7:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...nOneAnnual7.jpg
Crimson Dynamo's armor is insufficient protection against Savage Hulk's blows, from Incredible Hulk #258:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...gPower18258.jpg
Similarly, the High Evolutionary's armor -- armor that the supergenius could not himself destroy -- is reduced to shards by Savage Hulk's blows in Incredible Hulk #266:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...gPower19266.jpg
One of the only two beings to do so with pure physical force, Savage Hulk dents the pure adamantium armoring Ultron in Secret Wars #12:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...Power23SW12.jpg
(please log in to view the image)
From personal experience, Wolverine explains, "It's like he hits ya so damn hard ya actually leave yer own body. It's when ya come back that ya feel the pain." From Wolverine Origins #28:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...neOrigins28.jpg
Here, Wolverine is sent flying from New York to Boston with a single blow in Punisher vol.4 #37:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...unisherv437.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...kingPower26.jpg
A single backhand knocks Captain Marvel unconscious in Captain Marvel #21:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ainMarvel21.jpg
Underwater in his own element, Namor and Savage Hulk strike each other with such force that "Instantaneously, all of Atlantis quivers and shakes, as though racked to the core by a monstrous earthquake -- while, for hundreds of miles around, the mightiest of vessels are buffeted and bruised by the sudden fury of the tempest tossed-sea -- as gigantic tidal waves threaten the coastlines of an entire continent..." From Incredible Hulk #118:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...gPower05118.jpg
Here, he pounds Phoenix Emma Frost (possessing half of the Phoenix Force) through the island of Utopia into the ocean underneath, from Avengers Vs X-Men #11:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ower29AvX11.jpg
The Immovable Blob is unbelievably struck backwards by the Hulk's punch in Marvel Fanfare #7:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...velFanfare7.jpg
Similarly, even though Unus the Untouchable is virtually invincible within his personal forcefield, Savage Hulk knocks him out with a single blow in Defenders #15 and even completely dissipates it in Marvel Fanfare #7:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...Defenders15.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...kingPower21.jpg
Nate Grey boasts that no physical force has ever pierced his "fully-focused teke-shields," until Savage Hulk does so in X-Man/Hulk '98:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...kAnnual1998.jpg
Classic Dr. Strange's mystic barrier can't withstand the punches of "the most powerful creature on the face of the Earth," from Defenders #18:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...Defenders18.jpg
Savage Hulk's punches against the Crimson Bands of Cytorrak cause such painful feedback against classic Dr. Strange, he loses concentration and gives Savage Hulk an opportunity to escape in Incredible Hulk #207:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...gPower12207.jpg
Even the Collector's most powerful forcefield is shattered by Savage Hulk's punches in Incredible Hulk #198:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...gPower11198.jpg
The power of his fists has been directly compared to many indescribable forces, including Mjolnir. Here, "the Incredible Hulk has done what no other power save Thor's hammer could have done!" From Avengers #5:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...Avengers005.jpg
Even a barrier that "only the shattering sound of Black Bolt's voice can penetrate" is broken through by Savage Hulk's fists in Incredible Hulk Annual #1:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...er06Annual1.jpg
Impossibly, Savage Hulk literally punches through a time storm (one that even Kang's time machine cannot penetrate) and rends apart the space-time continuum enough for Kang to travel through in Incredible Hulk #135:

II. SAVAGE HULK STRENGTH (cont'd)
THUNDERCLAPS
Savage Hulk doesn't just create these enormously powerful shockwaves by striking other objects. He can bring his hands together and create devastating thunderclaps. They've been described as "louder than a jet plane's sonic boom." From Incredible Hulk #4:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...erclap01004.jpg
A single thunderclap shreds an entire battalion of tanks in Tales to Astonish #67:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lap05TTA067.jpg
(please log in to view the image)
How are the thunderclaps underwater? "In air, Hulk's clap is akin to a sonic boom. In the much denser medium of water... the effects are catastrophic." From Hulk/Sub-Mariner '98:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...5Annual1998.jpg
Handling boulders he can create a thunderclap that is so powerful, the concussion sends Human Torch and Thing flying "helplessly into the air, as the Earth for miles around trembles and shudders." From Fantastic Four #26:

III. SAVAGE HULK DURABILITY (cont'd)
DRAINING
As Hulk is powered by gamma radiation, many opponents have attempted energy draining to defeat him. Most attempts fail because of his ability to amplify his power through rage. Dr. Zaxon's draining ray fails for this reason in Tales to Astonish #79:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ing01TTA079.jpg
An energy-synthicon chain begins draining Savage Hulk but with increased rage, he overpowers it in Incredible Hulk #182:

Mimic drains levels of gamma radiation from a weakened Savage Hulk that prove fatal to him, but not to Hulk in Incredible Hulk #161:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...aining03161.jpg
Draining via magic is similarly fruitless. Here, the Spirit Stone of Pariah drains Savage Hulk as his Banner side fights to permit it to drain his lifeforce, but realizing that Pariah would be a threat to the world, he lets Savage Hulk take over who immediately escapes Pariah's grip and overpowers the Spirit Stone in Incredible Hulk #268:

Randau, an alien who has challenged and nearly bested Terrax with his energy draining, completely fails to drain Savage Hulk's energy here in Incredible Hulk #103:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...aining02103.jpg
Aliens with technology formidable enough to stagger classic Dr. Strange's seraphim shields and ensnare Silver Surfer use a Starwheel machine to trap and drain the Defenders. Only Savage Hulk is able to power through the draining and cause enough feedback to destroy the Starwheel and free them all in Defenders vol.2 #8:

http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...kDraining11.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...kDraining12.jpg
CHEMICAL
As his enemies have come to find out, it is often better to indirectly attack Savage Hulk as opposed to overpowering him with force. Accordingly, all sorts of chemicals and gases have been used on him. However, relatively speaking, his resistance is well over superhuman. Deadly nerve gas ends up reverting a Banner-controlled Hulk into Savage Hulk in Incredible Hulk #123:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...emical01123.jpg
Traditional anesthesia is ineffective and doctors note that the amounts required to render him numb would be astronomical in Incredible Hulk #288:

Savage Hulk resists special anesthesia utilized by Doc Sampson in Incredible Hulk #199:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...emical03199.jpg
Iron Man insists that he's pumped enough tranquilizer gas to "knock out Galactus" and even when combined with a strobe-light effect, Savage Hulk resists it in Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #2:

IV. SAVAGE HULK SPEED
AGILITY
It would be perfectly reasonable to assume that a 8' tall, 1000+ lbs. monster would be a slow lumbering beast. However, from the beginning, Savage Hulk has always possessed superhuman speed belying his enormous size. His feats of agility and speed are typically accompanied by these sorts of descriptions, "Suddenly, moving with blinding speed which, seems impossible for one so huge..." From Incredible Hulk #4:

V. SAVAGE HULK POWERS
TRANSFORMATION
(please log in to view the image)
The Savage Hulk's most basic power is the ability to transform into a raging green behemoth. The process by which Banner usually transforms into the Savage Hulk has a chemical catalyst, adrenalin. Whereas adrenalin heightens normal physical abilities in normal human beings, in Banner's case it triggers the complex chemical-extra-physical process that transforms him into the Savage Hulk. Banner becomes aware of this as early on as Tales to Astonish #60:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ion02TTA060.jpg
While it would be reasonable to assume that Banner is extremely vulnerable in human form, because the transformation is induced by stress, any harm that befalls Banner necessarily triggers the transformation as shown here when Banner is sent flying to certain death by an explosion but is saved by his metamorphosis in Tales to Astonish #66:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ion03TTA066.jpg
Inversely, Savage Hulk transforming back to Banner can end up saving his life as well. Mortally wounded by a blade enchanted by a mystical star alignment, the Savage Hulk transforms back into Banner and is completely unhurt in Defenders #1:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...4Defenders1.jpg
Indeed, Banner comes to realize a theory he's always held about the Savage Hulk, "What hurts the Hulk doesn't hurt me, and vice versa!" From Incredible Hulk #288:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...mation08288.jpg
The total transformation can take minutes to complete but it can also be nigh instantaneous. Here, Banner is about to be run over by a train and instantly transforms to the Savage Hulk to protect himself in Incredible Hulk #255:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...mation05255.jpg
In fact, the transformation has beaten out bullets in mid-flight as shown here in Incredible Hulk #293:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...mation09293.jpg
This "bullet-timing" transformation happened again in Incredible Hulk vol.2 #43:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ation10v243.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...formation11.jpg
AMPING
In times of stress the Savage Hulk's adrenalin level escalates, causing a corresponding escalation of strength. Thus, the madder he gets, the stronger he gets. The Thing finds this out the hard way in Fantastic Four #25:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ping01FF025.jpg
Giant-Man's efforts to wear out the Savage Hulk in combat are thwarted by his strength amping in Fantastic Four #26:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ping02FF026.jpg
The amping provides geometric increases in strength that gets Savage Hulk out of sticky situations, such as here in Tales to Astonish #70:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ing03TTA070.jpg
While also gamma irradiated, Doc Sampson doesn't share the Savage Hulk's amping ability and therefore almost always ends up on the losing end of their fights, from Incredible Hulk #141:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...Amping04141.jpg
The Abomination was originally much stronger than the Savage Hulk -- and was even granted twice that level of strength by the Galaxy Master -- but that doesn't matter much when "all Hulk has to do is become ten times as mad!!" From Incredible Hulk #270:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...Amping05270.jpg
In the heat of battle, such amping proves more than Genis-Vell's estimations of force can handle when a blast twice as powerful as before proves ineffectual against a Savage Hulk who is "three times angrier" in Captain Marvel vol.3 #2:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...inMarvelv32.jpg
HEALING FACTOR
In addition to his great durability, the Savage Hulk has also demonstrated a vastly superhuman healing capacity, enabling him to regenerate body tissue (including internal organs) within seconds to minutes. This healing factor transferred to his cousin Jennifer Walters via blood transfusion saved her life and transformed her into the She-Hulk in The Savage She-Hulk #1:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...01She-Hulk1.jpg

Wolverine amped by Apocalypse as his new Horseman of Death manages to penetrate Savage Hulk's neck when he accidentally impales himself on his claws and the open wound is hammered repeatedly. A moment's pause, however, is all that's required for Savage Hulk's healing factor to regain his bearings and end the fight in Wolverine #145:

On Sakaar, the alien Spikes were used to ravage countrysides. Although infecting Savage Hulk's very insides, he manages to tear them straight out of his body to free himself (the only one to do so) in Incredible Hulk vol.2 #99:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...actor07v299.jpg
The more powerful Spike Elders usually control the Spikes but are so weakened that they require vast amounts of energy to restrain them. The only source they can rely on is the Savage Hulk's own energy and his ability to heal from their constant draining. From Incredible Hulk vol.2 #102:

VI. GRAY HULK STRENGTH
The Gray Hulk is another manifestation of Banner's multiple personality disorder and is actually the oldest. Rather than anger, the Gray Hulk's transformations were influenced by the sun.
(please log in to view the image)
At first, this third identity was as childlike as the Savage Hulk. However, upon its re-emergence, the Gray Hulk became exceptionally clever and shrewd -- although it still lacked Banner's advanced intellect and scientific knowledge. The Gray Hulk was also prone to violent fits of rage but would go on to display a high level of avarice and selfishness. Eventually adopting the moniker, "Mr. Fixit," he went so far as participating in organized crime but never engaged in outright villainy. While weaker in the sun and somewhat slower to amplify his strength, he is still extraordinarily strong and capable of incredible feats of strength rivaling the strongest in the industry.
LIFTING
The Gray Hulk lifts a train car and tosses it with ease at X-Factor in Incredible Hulk #336:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ifting01336.jpg
Here he tosses Werewolf by Night into the night sky across a plain in Incredible Hulk #362:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ifting02362.jpg
He effortlessly lifts and tosses a tank at Doc Sampson in Incredible Hulk #373:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ifting03373.jpg
Gray Hulk supports a tunnel cave-in to save the New Fantastic Four in Fantastic Four #349:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ting04FF349.jpg
Here he lifts and tosses a pyramid facsimile on top of the West Coast Avengers, and it takes Wonder Man and Iron Man to keep it from squashing them in Hulk Smash Avengers #4:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...shAvengers4.jpg
PRESSING
Marvel Girl's telekinesis fails to hold back an advancing Gray Hulk in Incredible Hulk #336:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...essing01336.jpg
Cyclops' extended optic blasts are similarly useless at keeping him back in Incredible Hulk #336:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...kPressing02.jpg
FLEXING
Even though he's completely encased in ice, Gray Hulk flexes and breaks free in Incredible Hulk #337:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lexing01337.jpg
Without any sort of leverage against Glorian's bands, Gray Hulk still musters enough strength to break free in Incredible Hulk #355:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lexing02355.jpg
Gray Hulk easily breaks free from Blob's sleeper hold in Incredible Hulk #369:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lexing03369.jpg
Reinforced cuffs prove worthless in restraining the Gray Hulk in Incredible Hulk vol.2 #15:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...exing04v215.jpg
When push comes to shove, the Gray Hulk is more than capable of wrestling Wonder Man toe-to-toe in Hulk Smash Avengers #4:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...shAvengers4.jpg
TEARING
Iron bars do not a prison make, especially to the Gray Hulk in Incredible Hulk #333:

Gray Hulk completely shreds the armor of some Hulkbusters with his bare hands in Incredible Hulk #343:

VI. GRAY HULK STRENGTH (cont'd)
STAMINA
While weaker at base levels, Gray Hulk is nearly inexhaustible and is capable of trading blows with the Abomination in Incredible Hulk Annual #15:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...h01Annual15.jpg
At night, the Gray Hulk's endurance is nearly limitless. Despite being outmatched before in pure strength against an enhanced Spiky Thing, it is this stamina that permits him to fight a hit-and-run battle that lasts for nearly an entire hour towards victory in Incredible Hulk #350:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...tamina01350.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lkStamina02.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lkStamina03.jpg
STRIKING POWER
Gray Hulk definitely does not lack in striking power either as he manages to best the Abomination. "On paper, the Abomination may, technically, be the more powerful of the two. The [Gray] Hulk never read those papers." From Incredible Hulk Annual #15:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...gPower16237.jpg
A small flick of the finger sends Allan Quartermain flying in Incredible Hulk #341:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...gPower02341.jpg
The notion that Mr. Fixit cannot hang with top tiers in strength should be harshly questioned when he can take on Wonder Man directly and knock him the f out as hard as bad as he's ever been in Hulk Smash Avengers #4:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...shAvengers4.jpg
(please log in to view the image)
And any such notion that the Gray Hulk can never achieve the heights of other Hulks' strength levels should be dismissed in the face of the following infamous feat. Launched by experimental anti-magnetic jet-propelled rocket springs, the Gray Hulk busts apart an asteroid measured to be TWICE the size of the Earth in Marvel Comics Presents #52:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ower03MCP52.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...kingPower04.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...kingPower05.jpg
SHOCKWAVES
The Gray Hulk is just as capable of producing devastating shockwaves. He sends a squad of troops tumbling with a stomp in Incredible Hulk #373 and Hulk: Gray #2:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ckwave02373.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...04HulkGray2.jpg
Gray Hulk tosses Cap and Iron Man with a double-fist pound's shockwave in The Order #3:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ave03Order3.jpg
Together with the enhanced Spiky Thing, Gray Hulk creates a shockwave that shatters windows within a block and a half in [u]Fantastic Four[/i] #54:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lkvsThing54.jpg
THUNDERCLAPS
(please log in to view the image)
Thunderclaps are physically devastating on their own. For those with an acute sense of hearing, it's nearly lethal as Wolverine painfully becomes aware in Incredible Hulk #340:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...erclap01340.jpg
Even reinforced earplugs can't protect the Leader from losing his concentration over mental illusions in Incredible Hulk #345:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...erclap02345.jpg
Here he sends a jeep careening with one in Incredible Hulk #334:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ckwave01334.jpg
The reality warper, Glorian, is sent flying by a point blank thunderclap in Incredible Hulk #355:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...erclap04355.jpg
As quick on his feet as he is, Spider-Man is similarly wracked by a swift thunderclap from Gray Hulk in Incredible Hulk #349:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...erclap03349.jpg
The thunderclaps are so swift that even Quicksilver's speed does not avail him in The Order #3:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lap05Order3.jpg

VII. GRAY HULK DURABILITY
Just as he is hardly lacking in strength, neither is he lacking in durability. Gray Hulk is extremely resistant to a host of attacks ranging from pure physical force, energy projection, temperature extremes, piercing, chemical and mental attacks.
BLUNT FORCE
A blow from the Spiky Thing that destroys "every window within a block and a half" is shrugged off in Fantastic Four #320:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lunt01FF320.jpg
Gray Hulk basically no sells several of She-Thing's punches in Incredible Hulk #365:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...kBlunt04365.jpg
He shrugs off Mr. Hyde's punches with equal disdain in Incredible Hulk #368:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...kBlunt05368.jpg
Not even Doc Sampson can bring him down, especially not when he ticks him off in Incredible Hulk #373:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...kBlunt07373.jpg
Mr. Fixit tanks being shoulder tackled straight in the chest by a soaring Wonder Man in Hulk Smash Avengers #4:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...shAvengers4.jpg
Iron Man in his Silver Centurion armor has even less luck and can't even manage to budge Gray Hulk later on in Hulk Smash Avengers #4:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...HulkBlunt09.jpg
A cosmically powered Spider-Man sends Gray Hulk careening into outer space with a single blow and Gray Hulk retains consciousness enough to ponder what will happen to him in Amazing Spider-Man #328:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...unt06ASM328.jpg
His greatest strength feat is also his greatest durability feat as Gray Hulk not only successfully busts an asteroid twice the size of the Earth but he also survives the sheer concussive impact of its destruction and doesn't even lose consciousness in Marvel Comics Presents #52:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lunt02MCP52.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...HulkBlunt03.jpg
PIERCING
(please log in to view the image)
The Gray Hulk is no less bulletproof than any other Hulk and he's been that way from the very beginning when it comes to small arms to automatic weapons fire. From Incredible Hulk #1, 333, 340, 347, 366, and 373:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ercing01001.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ercing02333.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...kPiercing03.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ercing04340.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ercing05347.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ercing07366.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ercing10373.jpg
A point blank shot to his face doesn't do more than leave soot on his mug in Wolverine vol.2 #7:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...olverinev27.jpg
Mr. Fantastic notes that he can't readily draw blood from Gray Hulk's impervious skin or even his exposed gums in Incredible Hulk #365:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ercing06365.jpg
Mr. Hyde manages to force the Gray Hulk underneath a moving train's wheels but even the full force of a train's wheels doesn't tear him up in Incredible Hulk #368:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ulkvsHyde04.jpg

VIII. GRAY HULK SPEED
AGILITY
Just like the Savage Hulk, Gray Hulk possesses a superhuman speed that belies his size. He's quick enough to block Spider-Man's webbing in Incredible Hulk #349:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...gility01349.jpg
Since he doesn't want to fight him, Gray Hulk's agile enough to avoid several of Wolverine's slashes and stop him from hopping around in Marvel Comics Presents #55:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lity02MCP55.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lkAgility03.jpg
Gray Hulk's superhuman speed is on full display here when he bats down a tank shell after it's been fired in The Order #1:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...04TheOrder1.jpg
LEAPING
Gray Hulk didn't do as much wandering as Savage Hulk but that doesn't mean he didn't do some. And he didn't do it without some of those incredible leaps. Here, he narrowly misses the X-Men's Blackbird but ends up accidentally swiping a commercial airliner in Incredible Hulk #340:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lkLeap01340.jpg
His straight vertical leaps easily clear a hundred feet, from Incredible Hulk #342 and 349:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lkLeap01342.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...lkLeap01349.jpg
IX. GRAY HULK POWERS
TRANSFORMATION
(please log in to view the image)
As alluded to earlier, Gray Hulk's transformation was originally controlled by the Sun as discovered by Rick Jones and Bruce Banner in Incredible Hulk #1:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...mation01001.jpg
Eventually, this persona would give way to the dominant Savage Hulk. The next time we would see the Gray Hulk would be years later when Doc Sampson would try to use a nutrient bath to cure Bruce Banner. However, General Thunderbolt Ross' interference caused the bath to revert Banner into his Gray Hulk persona instead in Incredible Hulk #324:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...mation02324.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...formation03.jpg
This transformation bore the original's reaction to sunlight. But as he spent more and more time as the Gray Hulk, other discoveries were made. For instance, in Incredible Hulk #333, it's revealed that Gray Hulk's sensitivity to sunlight was acute enough to even feel slightly weaker during a Full Moon which reflects more sunlight than a New Moon:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...mation04333.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...formation05.jpg
Eventually, Mr. Fixit manages to fight back his reversions to Banner during daytime through sheer force of will in Incredible Hulk #347:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...mation06347.jpg
Still, operating in broad daylight would cause Gray Hulk immense pain. The brighter it was, the more it felt like his skin was burning. And while Mr. Fixit was able to handle it, the pain was so bad that when Absorbing Man tried absorbing his strength and form he shrieked due to the sheer pain wracking his body in Incredible Hulk #348:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...mation07348.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...orbingMan16.jpg
AMPING
Gray Hulk retained his ability to amplify his strength based on his rage. Sometimes it took longer than usual to ramp up to higher levels but even he reached heights capable of defeating the Abomination, from Incredible Hulk Annual #15:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...g01Annual15.jpg
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ulkAmping02.jpg
Wolverine discovers this hard lesson and pays for it, "I cut him again -- he heals even faster. . . . He gets tougher. Stronger. Harder to hurt." From Incredible Hulk #340:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...Amping03340.jpg
To state the obvious, the more Gray Hulk amplified his strength and rage, the more resistant he was to forms of mental control, from Marvel Super-Heroes vol.3 #3:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...r-Heroesv33.jpg
HEALING FACTOR
In its first real test, Gray Hulk's healing factor proved capable of almost instantaneously healing him from gaping chest wounds caused by Wolverine's adamantium claws, from Incredible Hulk #340:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...Factor01340.jpg
The rate his healing factor repaired him would be amplified by his rage just like his strength would, from Incredible Hulk #340:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...ingFactor02.jpg
And it's his extraordinary healing factor that permits him to shrug off transmutation, from Incredible Hulk #363:
http://i388.photobucket.com/albums/...Factor03363.jpg
