Aspartame (NutraSweet and Equal etc) is about 180 times sweeter than sugar, and only a small does is plenty, but some diet drinks contain about 8 spoonfuls of the stuff
And it is broken down into these components, aspartic acid,
phenylalanine, and methanol.
methanol being the worst when heated
