Why do I get screwed over everytime I'm in one?
My two closest friends are in the most sh*ttiest of relationships. They both constantly fight with their girlfriends, their girlfriends lie to them and they lie to their girlfriends, yet they stay together and are happy like nothing is wrong.
I consider myself one of the nicest guys in the world. Each girlfriend I've had, I've shown them that I really like them and want to be with them, but in the end they always lie to me and end up dumping me. (I've never dumped any girlfriend I've had, that might be bad but I don't like to hurt people.)
I don't mean to b*tch and moan but recently some people that I've never been mean to or hurt the whole time that I've known them have treated me like sh*t and I just think it might be something I do.
It seems like I'm TOO NICE.
Is it bad to be too nice to people you consider important in your life?
There isn't really a such thing as being too nice. Although if you're extremely nice and do things over the top, she'll expect more out you.
In a relationship it can't just be you doing everything for her. She has to be just as giving as you, or else you'll just become a "gift-shop" to her. That is where the difference between love and lust lies... Love is when you both would give your life's for each other. Lust is when one would.

Exactly. If she dumped you, it's her fault and her loss.

You shouldn't have to work so hard in a relationship. If you have to constantly work for the other persons approval then they don't care abotu you, they only care about their perfect image of you.
But you do seem like a really nice person and if she can't see that then the fault is in her, not you.

Thank's Punky, I wasn't trying to be all dramatic but I just don't understand what's wrong with people sometimes.

I hate to be the mean one in this thread, but I really do think you can be too nice.
I don't know if this applys to anyone besides me, but it does get really annoying when people forsake their own opinions just to avoid "arguing" or something, all in the name of being nice. Or the agreeing with everything you say to be nice. Or waiting on you hand and foot and making themselves your slave when you would prefer to do something yourself, to be nice.
I'm saying you do that, but that's just my definition of being too nice.
And Strangles, I'm sorry, but you're the best guy friend.

I totally agree with you Naz, I don't think anyone should do that in a relationship. But I do know the difference between being nice and being a puppet for your significant other.
I never turned into a "slave" for my girlfriends and never just totally agreed with them to avoid confrontation.
I meant nice as in you are there for them if they need you. You will do things for them if they ask you, you don't put them down or make fun of their ideas. You buy them a small gift or flowers just because. You don't forget important things and you always stick up for them even if they are totally wrong.
But I act like that and it always blows up in my face.

See, that's what I, and I've always assumed most people, are looking for.
I guess alot of people are just really really stupid.

I am not generalizing all girls, just the ones I've been around.
It seems to me that girls I've known in my life just stay for certian benefits, whether it be money, partying, etc.
Again I'm talking about girls I have met. Not all girls.

Go ahead, tell me what you're going to say to her.
I'm a virgin.
That's cool, now I know that you don't have herpes.
What if she laughs at me?
If she laughs at you, punch her in the head.

Mhm, I know girls like that. Not to generalize that particular genre, if you will, of girl, but they always seem to wear lots of make up and tube tops. Just an observation.

Yes. In the summer it gets bad with them, especially at the mall.
