The thing thats unreal is everybody blames Obama for the current debt crisis and unemployment.Amazing what a short memory they have that Bush was the one that initially got us into the recession his last couple years in office.People were losing jobs left and right during that time and Obama has accelerated what Bush got started.I never thought we would ever get a president worse than Bush.
Should have known better though,You go back to the past 50 years or so,every president that gets into office is always worse than the previous one.As long as we have this corrupt two party system of demopublicans and reprocrats,thats the way it will always be from here on out.
You can't blame him for the crisis but you can blame him for being a pussy and therefore being complicit in the hostage taking that the national socialists in the tea party are responsible for. I hope he get primaried by someone with a spine and hope against hope and probability that a Democratic Socialist wins the next presidential election and that at the very least, the tea party is swept out of government.

Well Well "we are spending so much on war and nothing on debt payment" why why ten years of war and still no development when this war will come to an end and life of innocent will be given value my take is let them handle their matters and we should solve our own enough of this war against terror it has done nothing except spreading hatred against America.
Oh it's gonna get worse. No unemployment starting in January, no LEAP, no money for police departments or social services beyond the very basics. Things are gonna get very interesting when desperate people reject the tea party bullshit and start going against the grain while even more desperate people turn to the streets with pipes, bottles, chains, and guns.

I think we need a means test for the presidency. Not necessarily based on ideology but one based on some measurement of character and preferably one that weeds out personality disorders. Other than corruption, I feel like the main factors that cripple and corrupt the American Presidency in a post-'60's world are fear for personal and familial safety. If you sit in the office, you should have no fear regardless of what you do because country comes first, your life and family are expendable when it comes to the well being of 300 million people. FDR, Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, and even Johnson challenged the status quo but it seems like every liberal president and politician after watched the Zapruder film on a loop and decided to be friends with everyone. I guess this kind of ties in with my comment in the Norway thread that terrorism works as long as people act predictably and respond to their base, weaker instincts.

As I understand this, this deal is supposed to reduce the deficit by $2T in 10 years. Since we're, what--$14T in debt, this plan brings us out of debt in...70 years? 2081??
What's the interest rate on this, and how do I get in?
