They will do the same thing as in China. Or life will become so hard in overpopulated countries that people will not be able to afford more than one kid, which is already true in a lot of countries including Russia, which is frankly underpopulated.
5 billion... those were the days. I think Captain Planet is calling for regulated breeding.

China tried population control for 50 years and it hasn't worked. It's only accomplished in creating a massive male/female imbalance. And the earth being able to support 100 million people is utter crap. I'ts arguably overpopulated NOW. We are currently consuming resources at an unsustainable rate, causing accelerated climate change, and destroying what's left of nature.

Overpopulation is a myth. It is and always has been a resource distribution problem, not an overpopulation problem. It also has to do with how we use materials, not the finite nature of the materials themselves. Sure, we need to change the focus in energy to far more renewable sources (obviously).
This group makes great vids that tell us why there are really resource issues.
For perspective, I read an article complaining about the movie Battleship in which it stated that the movie's 200 million dollar budget would have been enough to sufficiently feed 800,000 people every day for a year via military-grade rations.
We were spending 50 billion dollars a month at one point funding the wars in the Middle East. So for 50 billion dollars you could feed 200 million people every day for a year. Considering that 50 billion dollars is a drop in the ocean for us, it suffices to say that at least financially, we more than have the means to end world hunger right now.

That makes my enjoyment of films feel quite despicable. Way to bring someone down.
But about the military actions/budget. That's just sad. Maybe we shouldn't cut the military budget as much as I want to (half): maybe we should refocus the efforts?
Suppose the earth is capable of a much larger human population than we have now, do we really want it that way? The majority of earth's population live in poverty, increasing their living standards would only further strain earth's resources. There is currently the issue of climate change (and yes, we are responsible for it) and the impact it is currently having, and which will be compounded in the future, will have on agriculture. More and more humans means less and less of a natural world, is that something we want? i don't. Ending world hunger? What a joke. Even if we were to quit fighting wars, which will never happen, I seriously doubt richer countries are going to allocate the recources it would take to feed all the starving people in Africa and Asia, that would be GASP! socialism. In the end a smaller human population means a better quality of life for those that are here.

Well, you may be taken up in the rapture. All the good people will be taken in the rapture. I assume the Rapture will occur around the peak. That's why the population is going to start falling: a gradual rapture.
I won't be taken in the rapture because I'm an evil, dirty Mormon. But that just leaves more bitches for me when all the good men are taken.
