A Lackawanna County reverend who was caught trying to set up a sexual liaison with a child during online chats with an undercover police officer pleaded guilty Friday to a felony charge of unlawful contact with a minor.
Robert John Morgan, 76, entered his plea in exchange for prosecutors dropping additional charges against him.
Kingston police charged Morgan, who at the time of his arrest in September was a reverend at the Moosic Assembly of God, with contacting an undercover officer who was posing online as an adult with "direct contact" with a child under the age of 16.
Following a sexually explicit exchange about the child, Morgan was arrested when he showed up to meet the fictitious child in Kingston Township.
^What just dawned on me, this victim could very well not be his stepdaughter, but another young girl he molested, aside from molesting his stepdaughter.
As Bash noted, his bragging post/story was in 2014. The abuse of this victim started in 2015.
According to the article you posted, the victim was molested from 2015–2019, beginning when the victim was 8, and continuing until she was 12.
His stepdaughter was 12–13 in 2019, making her 8–9 in 2015. I suspect her birthday is after July (making her 8 for at least 7 months of 2015, and 12 for at least 7 months of 2019).
That further supports his daughter being 8 years old in his post in 2014; because she has a late birthday.
His new wife divorced him in February of 2019, and he filed for bankruptcy 9 months later in November, likely as the result of the divorce.
However, the victim did not come forward until after July of that year, so I do not know if the divorce is related to the disclosure of abuse. But the events happening 6 months apart is a strong coincidence.
We know he was living with his brother in March of 2020, but I suspect he may have been living with him 6 months after his divorce in August of 2019. That is why the abuse stopped in July; because he was living with his brother.
The victim either could not travel to him for visitation, or he would not have unsupervised access to her there. That is why she no longer feared reprisal, and came forward.
The 2019 divorce was his first wife, the mother of the stepdaughter he molested. He's still married to his second wife (a Vietnamese woman), but it seems she's residing at a different address than he is. So she might have been smart enough to take their two kids and leave.

In an interview at the county's Children Advocacy Center, the girl described several incidents where Guerra raped and molested her on multiple occasions, the affidavit said.

In 2006, Farmer pleaded guilty in Randall County to four counts of indecency with a child sexual contact and was sentenced to six years probation.
In 2009, a civil lawsuit against Paramount Baptist Church, where Farmer worked from 1995–2004, was settled. The lawsuit claimed Farmer, a child care worker, was inappropriate around children, and that complaints about Farmer's behavior were ignored.
A pastor has pleaded guilty to numerous felony charges for secretly recording people in a church bathroom.

Detectives learned Johnson confessed to church leadership to placing the camera.
A search warrant was executed at Johnson's home by detectives and all electronic devices were seized, and a forensic analysis was conducted.
Detectives said he admitted to placing the camera, and that he has done so intermittently for the past 2 years, targeting specific individuals known to use that specific bathroom.
Johnson remains jailed on a $250,000 bond. His sentencing is scheduled for next month. The church has seven Michigan locations, each of which they call a campus.

A former Calvary Chapel pastor convicted of child molestation was charged in Washington state on Wednesday with first-degree murder and kidnapping in connection with the death of an 82-year-old grandmother who was entombed under a shed.
Jeffrey Zizz, 47, was charged with premeditated first-degree murder and first-degree felony murder, both while armed with a deadly weapon, and a misdemeanor charge of unlawful disposal of human remains.
Thurston County Sheriff Derek Sanders said that Zizz failed a polygraph test, requested an attorney, and fled the state shortly after an initial interview with authorities.
Authorities tracked Zizz to Missoula, Montana where he was taken into custody on a child molestation violation on April 6th.
Norman's remains were found partially encased in concrete under a shed recently built by Zizz in Olympia, according to a Thurston County sheriff's press release.
Zizz is accused of killing Marcia Norman, 82, on or between April 1st and April 9th. Norman was reported missing after she and Zizz had dinner together on April 1st.
Gary Warnock, Thurston County coroner, called the investigation the "worst case I've witnessed." He said Norman was beaten and injured with a nail gun for hours before she died.
Thurston County prosecutor Jon Tunheim said Monday Norman's injuries are consistent with torture. Investigators said Norman's wrists and ankles were wrapped with long black Velcro straps, and evidence showed she was bound before her death.
Norman's cause of death was blunt force trauma and penetrating injuries to her head. Months before she was reported missing, Zizz broke into Norman's home while she was sleeping, according to court documents.
The pastor was arrested in 2021 and booked on suspicion of nine criminal counts that included incest, rape of a child, and molestation. Zizz pleaded guilty in October 2022 to two counts of second-degree child molestation against victims ages 12 to 14, and one count of communicating with a minor under age 18 for immoral purposes.
Although Zizz was sentenced to more than eight years in prison, he was released after 11 months due to a Washington law called the Special Sex Offender Sentencing Alternative. Some of the conditions surrounding the program required Zizz to enter a treatment program and he was prohibited from leaving the state.
