I was doing some thinking last night (Tuesday is my competitive eating training night), and I think the sensitivity of one's teeth plays a big part in their eating ability. If your teeth are sensitive to cold or hot foods, it can slow you down. I thought about that while scarfing down 9 quarter-inch turkey slices in a minute. Not impressive, I know, but for some reason it stung my lower teeth. Maybe I should have set it out of the fridge for a minute or two beforehand.
