Wolverine is pretty much defeated with his eyes plucked out and the brain tissue ripped out through the sockets.
With all due respect BattleHammer, in the same way you say that people under-estimate Wolverine you are underestimating Lady Shiva. And saying 'yea and' to her basically taking on (and being) at the top tier of DC fighters (sans Karate Kid ofcourse) makes it seem as if you are saying that DC martial exponents are jokes.
The truth of the matter is they are not, and also that Shiva is definitely in the top 3 (depending on where you put Cassie and Richard, with the three of them forming some sort of DC martial arts Trimurti, and at any given time any of them bearing the right to say they are the best ....of course, without including Karate Kid).
Wolverine has decades of fighting skill, Steve has his super-soldier serum, Iron Fist has all those martial skills and kunda-whatever ......but just saying that is all that is required, and that Shiva is a joke, makes it appear that your knowledge of DC martial artists is quite limited.
For one, someone like Dragon is basically Shang Chi. They are basically analogous.
Pick any Batgirl comic and you will realize that calling her feats peak human is some sort of internal DC joke. In terms of speed and strength she had people thinking she was meta (there are some interesting scans of her blitzing people), and in terms of fighting ability and extra-sensory perception she doesn't have superiors. Let's say she would make the Midnighter proud in appearing super-meta, and she would make Daredevil (were she his daughter) glow.
As for Shiva ....she doesn't need to pluck out eyes. Her favorite killing strike is simply driving her fingers into someone's forehead, through his skull, and into his brain. And in terms of skill she is ridiculous.
Now, I am not saying they would win (I honestly could care less for this fight ....I have no dog in it). But let me put it this way .....I own every single thing that Richard Dragon has appeared in (even the old stuff, but I especially love his mini-series that was superb, and that highlighted a good number of DC martial artists, including Shiva, Dragon ofcourse, Green Arrow, Bronze Tiger, the Monkey cult, and others). I own a lot of stuff with Shiva in it, and I own almost everything with Batgirl bar a copy here or there.
As for the marvel characters, I own a lot of Wolverine, I know a lot on Steve, and as for Iron Fist i have some of his stuff (although i have to admit it is the OLDER stuff). And even though he is not here, I have a good deal of Shang Chi's appearances.
And let me put it this way ....you may claim that you tried to read up on some of the DC characters because people were BSing you, but I am telling you no BS ......the DC characters are not jokes. Even Bronze Tiger was messing up Batman big time! And people like Shiva (apart from the ridiculous time where she was knocked out by Batman when she was mind controlled, or the time she was hit with a chair by Talia ....whcih was stupid ....she has a flawless record. The only people who match her are Dragon, who should have beaten her before the fight was fouled and she ended up driving her fingers through his skull, and Cassie, who managed to defeat the 'paper monkey')
Obviously no need to mention Karate Kid.
And more on Shiva, there is a reason she has cults who worship her as the god of Death (maybe instead of calling her Shiva they should have called her Kali Ma)
Anyways:
You saying 'pooh pooh' at Shiva is tantamount to me saying that Wolverine's healing factor is $h!tty, and that his adamantium claws cannot cut through anything harder than tempered steel!
In essence .....absolutely fallacious to the point of being stupid.
Marvel has great martial artists, but making it seem as if one of the premier fighters in DC is a joke is the same as me saying that Wolverine (using him since you specialize with him) would be beaten up by Tim Drake/Robin.
The same level of astonishment you would get at such a ridiculous statement is the same one i get (after reading, and owning, many of the issues with Richard Dragon, Wolverine, Shiva, Captain America, Batgirl, and OLD Iron Fist) when i hear you say DC martial artists are so useless that Shiva is a 'so what.'
Trust me, they can beat the marvel guys with as much ease as the marvel guys can beat the DC guys.
And apart from Wolverine, the Marvel guys generally do not kill.
The DC guys are known as part of the league of assassins for a reason.
And they specialize in killing masters and hard to kill types.
It could go either way, but most importantly, making the DC fighters seem like useless whelps that even Bucky could beat up stinks of high bias.

I was not saying nor impying that lady shiva is not a top tier fighter or dangerous. Nor was I saying she not a threat. I was saying she not going to be tearing out wolverine or capt or DD eyes.
And when I said "yea and" I ment what was the point intelling me all that when I already know it. It still will not change the fact she going to loses vs wolverine or capt and DD and her could go either way.
You speculations I on what I was saying are simply wrong. Also have you read bucky currently? He a beast and one of the best fighters in the marvel universes.
