For Illuminati, I don't believe the gauntlet ever featured the gems to "act in unison" as LT decreed. They just called to each other...so from my perspective, it still wasn't used in the same terms as Thanos/Magus/Nebula/Adam Warlock used it.
For Avengers, I had the feeling that stark could have achieved the same affect using the space or time gem. And, IIRC he then "wishes" for the gauntlet to disappear...I think that's possible using just the reality gem while connected to the other gems.
In other words I think the gems can be collected together and used, just not used "in unison" which was LT's decree, IIRC.

...Which was only accomplished AFTER LT momentarily lifted his ruling. Before that, the incomplete IG Magus assembled was completely useless (see the above scan.)
Scathan defeated a foe that was apparently beyond the Living Tribunal; if he alone can manage that, then Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet has no prayer against the entire Celestial race...
It took Doom 400 years with the IG AND the Beyonder's power to beat them in a What If. The gems were drained of power and shattered and the Beyonder's power was almost burnt out.

Doom also had The Beyonders power and (at the conclusion of the battle) the infinity gems were shattered and most of the Beyonders power was burned out...
I don't remember the living tribun ever actually ruling on the gems never working in unison... "again"...
I do remember eternity saying as much...
I think there is a cop out now where they are treating it as if living tribunal had never rescinded it and eternity lied.
