In a she-hulk comic. Part of the Champion/Titania arc. The power of the gems was referred to Power Primordial, and it was mentioned to be derived from the Big Bang. Which kinda makes sense in light of Hickman's new retcon wherein an IG can only work in its native universe.
Reed Richards, Dr. Doom, and the other members of Illuminati simply don't possess the required abstract levels of intelligence to ascend into full omnipotence while wearing the Gauntlet. Thanos and Adam Warlock, however, do. This much is obvious when one compares the original Infinity Gauntlet saga with the more recent Illuminati/FF stories.
Lolwut? The current IG sagas consist of a nerfed version of the original gems. And let's not go overboard with Starlin-lite nuthuggery under the guise of preference for Starlin-pets like Warlock and Thanos. Doom has had plently of instances of wielding godlike power to full effect on his own, while Reed has used his personal tech to save universes and fix suns while working with the COR. Not to mention that his son is pretty much a god in his own right.
A host was able to fight Doom for quite a while when he had the IG and Beyonder's power. All the Celestials would curbstomp current IG. Imagine Eson just falling out of the sky Hulk stomping Thanos, and then Arishem dropkicks him while TOAA clotheslines him over the top ropes.

The writers had Warlock erroneously state that while near death lying on a bed in #8.
Thankfully the Writers made fun of themselves in issue #12 ... how that didn't fit with "continuity."
They had a bit of 4th wall antics going on here via these "fans" to relay the message.

Actually its #12 good friend, and the nerd explained the opposite,
how the Gems are empowered by a force that pre-dates our universe (obviously the Infinity Being)
It was Warlock that mentioned primordial anything back in #8 as I explained prior.
In #12, the nerds realized the Gems went to those who wanted them the most,
and since the Elders are obsessive-nites who have been around billions of years,
bingo.
So this is how Titania was defeated, they gave her what she wanted (the win)
she put her guard down and they snatched the PG from her head sneak-style.
Mephisto's 2010 bio and the IG bio itself of the same year still has the Gems being
the embodiment of Nemesis, the entity that was lonely, and killed itself rather
than be the only sentience in the universe. (basically the same thing Thanos said on panel)
The scene that indirectly references the Infinity Being doesn't really prove anything at all-- it's just 2 nerds opinionatedly arguing back and forth about what they think the gems' origin is: http://imgur.com/3NaQf6L
She-Hulk even tries to remind the nerds what Warlock specifically said about the gems, but they totally ignored her.
On the subsequent page, the 'chief nerd' scolds them both with the following... "Take your She-Hulk comics at face value! If there is a connection between the gems and the Power Primordial... How can we use that to save the day?!": http://imgur.com/PrUr8fH
As is the case in real life: the comics themselves>the opinions of fanboys.

The point of that scene was to show us that just because something may not fit into continuity doesn't mean it should be overlooked/ignored. The chief nerd explained that as well in the first scan...
"Continuity! When I was growing up, if fans found a conflict in continuity they didn't try to trash it or tear it down! They looked at ALL the pieces and tried to come up with a solution!"

I'm gonna have to disagree there friend. Imo, the nerds were the writers clearing up their garbage. (She-Hulk 2005)
The Power Gem was given to Reed after She-Hulk got it from Titania. (Illuminati 2007)
Remember G, Reed noticed the Gems were "talking to each other" ... "they may be alive"
Mephisto's 2010 bio, (5 years later) tells us ... "Nemesis" is the Infinity Gems.
The 2010 IG bio itself shows us a pic of the IB when Thanos explained it,
and still has the IB as the lonely entity that killed itself rather than be the only sentience.
I don't think I need to post it, you're a reasonable man.
