Well they've ruined Sentry that was a pile of shit. Y'know when Thor said the whole of Asagard will be allies to earth in the future anybody think "Well you guys were getting your arses kicked by a bunch of mortals and we had to save your arse why the **** do we need your help for?" Hell even Amadeus Cho did better than some Asagrdians that was wack.

After seeing that crap showing by the Asgardians I'm convinced Thor made that pact to help protect them. From now on the superheroes will have to save the Asgardians if they are ever attacked by by nasty scary mortals again.

Haha, it was like Bendis wikied Nefaria and used that info as his basis for that book. The fact that Ms. Marvel drained him of energy (Something Bendis really played up in his run.) makes this a good bit more believable.

I'm not so sure - she couldn't do anything to him last time they fought. She was nothing to him.

Either way you look at it though, Nefaria did job to an extent here.

Bendis should have had Thor jump in and beat the shit out of him instead of Wolverine. That would have actually have made sense.
Yeah, when I saw that panel I was expecting a powerhouse like Thor or somebody on that level. So Cage actually went off to get Wolverine? What???? I guy who should have been tossed into space in a second at super speed? That was just nonsensical.

And isn't Nefaria made out of pure ionic energy? Does he even have what we would define as flesh and blood? Just asking since I don't remember what Busiek's take on him was.

In Busiek's run, Pym stated during the battle "We have no chance... the last time the Avengers fought him, Count Nefaria was beaten by a fluke. Even Thor couldn't stand against him."

Nefaria was getting pounded simultaneously by attacks from She-Hulk, Giant Man, Ms Marvel, Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, Songbird, Charcoal, Wasp, Cap and others and he just shrugged them off laughing about it. Scarlet Witch tried draining his energy with chaos magic but it failed.

Sadly, Bendis just turned another credible threat into a jobber.

Even so I could just forget about one story. But I'm just sick of Bendis and his crap writing and terrible dialogue. Would he please just let someone else write the Avengers again?

^ It did feel rushed. The ending was really lazy.

Frankly... if you take Sentry out of the equation, I'm pretty sure Siege doesn't result in anywhere near the devastation it wrought.

Yeah, but on the other hand take Choi, Quicksilver, Cap, and the other mortal heroes out of the equation and it looked like Mr. X and Daken would have finished off most of the Asgardians themselves...

I'm sure they could've pulled that off seeing as that had a hellicarrier and good number of jets to bomb Asgard to pieces. The emphasis was put too much on Sentry/Void and they thing looked rehash from the Onslaught saga. Doom, Namor, and Emma should've been a part in the take down of Norman and Void. Instead, it became the Void show which I could care less.

Well... my main point about taking Sentry out of the equation is that it would put Thor back into the equation. But I guess people are annoyed at how a Thor-less, crippled-by-Loki, Asgard did against the Initiative, H.A.M.M.E.R. and the Dark Avengers.

I think part of the sting for me was I was really digging JMS' run on Thor. It felt like there was this build up happening and everything was pretty well balanced and then it drops back into this. And after seeing Sentry cracking open I did start to feel like it was just a cover of the Onslaught saga. The ending at least.
