There can only be CHAOS!
In order for a bootleg game to work, they'd either have to have their own set of expensive equipment and would have to charge the same if not more than sony, or you must have a modded system... so they're probably not bootlegs then, just nicely priced. The game's almost ten years old anyway; some Xbox games are platinum greatest hits or something like that, something more than their normal platinum hits, which are $9.99 instead of the $19.99.

I sold my PC copy of FFVII a couple of years ago on ebay for a cool £46, I really had a burning urge to play on it a weeks ago so I looked on ebay to see what I could find. I found a nice little lot for only £8 (£10 including postage, also it was "buy it now" and the person always lists more so if you want a link or whatever send me a PM, it's a copied version of the game but it works perfectly, fully patched and everything.). I received the game on Thursday and I've been playing it since then. I can't get enough of it. I really don't know why I sold it in the 1st place really.
I'm up to the bit just after [SPOILER - highlight to read]: Aeris dies. Right at the start of Disk 2. It's such an awesome game. I like the Materia system but it kind of means that you might as well always take the strongest characters with you all the time as you can just swap their magic abilities about. Characters only vary because of their limit breaks and slightly due to their weapons (like Barret having numerous long range weapons). The fact that there is little variety means that I never get around to using characters like Yuffie or Aeris.

I thought that [SPOILER - highlight to read]: Aeris would died toward the end of the game
Well I'm glad you still can get into the game.
I got the game for the first time, earlier this year or towards the end of last year.
I played it a bit and I just couldn't get into it b/c of the graphics. Then I got to the part right where Cloud sneaks out of Aeris's house and I got stuck in that Broken Up Highway part and coudn't figure out where to go or what to do next.
Finish the game. The story's nice and just forget about the graphics. Keep in mind it's a 10 years old game when you're about to puke because of funny popeye characters. Earlier people talked about FFIX being the best or worst PSX FF, and I have to say it's a nice FF. I never finished it, but played it until the very end. Some old school FF5/6 fans say FFIX is the best because it's style aproaches that of the SNES Final Fantasies while the PSX era fans dislike it because it's different from 7 & 8. From a non-biased(as mush as I can anyway) opinion FFIX is a great game comparable to 6, 7 & 8. It has a great story, nicely developed characters, a ruthless & really powerful villain and it's humor is just top of the line. In fact FFIX made me laugh more times than any other FF game. FFIX's graphics pushed the PSX further down the road than the previous FFs too.

[SPOILER - highlight to read]: I was dead annoyed the 1st time I completed the game, As I'd been training her for ages, she dies slap bang in the middle of the game.
The graphics aren't that bad. It really doesn't effect the game though. If you've never left the 1st city then you've not experienced 0.1% of what the game has too offer. I don't really remember the broken highway part enough to help. I remember the bit after it in Wall Street is rather humourous though.

If you're having trouble finding a path through it. I think that there is a ramp on the right side. I'm not sure if that helps at all.... Just keep looking for routes.
(Update: I'm now up the bit where you have to go to Mt.Corel [SPOILER - highlight to read]: After Cloud's Mako overdose.)
