It's worth noting that Galen's technique very heavily relies on the integration of Force-based attacks into his lightsaber sequences. In a match where offensive Force powers are restricted, he can't fight to his full potential, whereas Ahsoka can. Not that this fact would necessarily forfeit the victory for him; they should be pretty evenly matched as martial artists given their respective performances against Vader under very similar circumstances.
Reliant and prefered fighting style is not the same. Not that it would be correct either way. Galen actually isn't very abusive of his offensive powers in duels.

Well, that would actually depend on which media you're primarily relying on as well. He's much more force-heavy in the game and graphic novel than he is in the novel, and all of those sources are canonical; not to say that he doesn't do so in the novel as well.
The novel should be favored as its unbiased text occurring almost solely from third person. Cut scenes in different versions of the game contradict eachother as well.
