Well the Sarah Connor Chronicles, although not perfect, seems to work fine without Arnold, although he is greatly missed.

I agree. Given the choice between Termintor TSCC or T3: ROTM, I would choose Terminator TSCC easily. And I'm not a huge fan of the series...

To me Terminator is all about the war between man and machines. Ever since watching the intro to T2 I've wanted to see the future war that takes place.

Yes you can regard Arnold as "the" Terminator. But I think that's a fault on the fans' behalf. Lets move on, and accept that Arnold can no longer reprise his Terminator role. If we fail to do that, there's no point in there being a T4.

Anton Yelchin is talking about joining McG's Terminator 4, which is currently going through a name change, but that's not the interesting bit of news coming out about the film.

The really interesting part is that Paul Haggis has been in talks to rewrite the film and in the story they reveal what could be the big twist!

Paul Haggis ? First Christian Bale is signed on as John Connor and now there's word that Haggis might be rewriting the script, a man who is more known for creating such great characters and relationships than big science fiction battles.

Is this a sign that we're headed into a new direction with Terminator 4, , and one that promises a lot more strength than the action sequences and dumbed down story that the third one did?

Coming Soon has The Hollywood Reporter story that Anton Yelchin is in negotiations to join the cast, and in amongst it they drop in that Paul Haggis has been in talks to rewrite the script. Not only that but they reveal what could be the big plot twist of the story.

A while ago the producers were saying that there was going to be a big twist, and then they brought on board a new character with a cryptic back story - he had somehow been asleep through the nuclear war and woke up afterwards.

Then came the story that Sam Worthington was replacing Arnie's character - you mean the Terminator? Marcus, the character that the film was going to focus on and be the new hero?

"Yelchin will play a teen version of Reese, the man who fathered world savior John Connor in the original Terminator film. Christian Bale will play John Connor…Reese, one of the children who survived a machine-driven nuclear holocaust, befriends Marcus (Sam Worthington), an early edition of the Terminator cyborg played in previous films by Arnold Schwarzenegger."

Oops, were they supposed to reveal that the character is going to be a Terminator? There goes the big surprise, but then that's the way I thought it was going already. For the most part we'll think he's human until the big reveal.

Once again, I thank you muchly Barand for this latest piece of news. I must say that, with each passing story I read about the upcoming "Terminator" film, my confidence in McG as the helmer of this project grows more and more. He's had the great good sense not only to surround himself with a top-notch cast, but also to bring on board Oscar-winning writer Paul Haggis to work on the script; after the excellent job he did polishing the script for "Casino Royale", I now have great hope that the script for "T4" will be equally strong. And Thank God they've finally dumped that awful, clunky title; yes - things are certainly looking better for this film every day big grin .

On a completely unrelated side-note, this is my milestone 3000th post here to the KMC - an accomplishment that I'm very pleased about big grin . And on this momentous occasion, please allow me to say ... wooohooo !!!

Okay ... so maybe it's not that huge a deal stick out tongue . But I must say that, when I look back on when I declared so confidently (back when I hit 2000 posts) that I would "never" return to the KMC ... I can only think how happy I am to be such a weak-willed individual stick out tongue . And thanks, guys, for always making me feel welcome on here (even if I *did* drive some of you insane with my constant comings and goings over the past few years wink ) smile .

I'm really confused about Terminator 4, formerly Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, because they are talking about changes to the plot once again, and it seems that the plot has been leaping around ever since the producers first talked about it.

Now the story seems to be about the relationship between John Connor and Kyle Reese, and yet the direction we've been given before has been at odds with this. I wonder if they really know where they're going?

Perhaps that's why we're seeing the rumour that they're looking for a new writer and that Paul Haggis may come on board to sort it all out.

Before, with all the Terminator 4 stories we've heard, the message was really confusing.

Originally the producers said that this story wouldn't concentrate on John Connor and that it would be a brand new hero, but then we heard Christian Bale was cast as John Connor – so why would we be on another new character when there's a top rate actor in the role of Connor?

Then we heard that the new character was going to be Marcus, a man that awakes after being asleep through the nuclear war – what?! Boy did that sound wrong already, and I immediately thought that he was going to be the twist that they talked about, a Terminator hidden among the humans. (I'll skip the one about Terminators using human brains!)

We also heard that the character of Marcus was replacing Arnie's Terminator character from the previous films, so it seems that was confirmed.

Next up was that Kyle Reese was coming back into the story, as John Connor's best friend and his future father. Now that's interesting, because if the focus wasn't Connor why are they bringing Reese back? After all they don't seem that concerned with story continuity.

Now we're being told that the story is going to be looking at the relationship between Reese and Connor and that Connor will be the central theme of the story.

What the hell is going on? Why are they chopping and changing the story so much? Is it because they're testing the story ideas on the fans out here on the Interflab and seeing what the fans like and don't like, or are they really unsure and changing direction and announcing it as they come up with the ideas?

Cinema Blend have a source saying that the focus is Connor and Reese in a storyline much like the newer Star Wars films, great, that sounds promising – that's sarcasm by the way. The idea is that Connor will be friends with Reese, realising that he's going to be his father in the past but with Reese having no idea.

They also reveal that the film is going to try and tie in the television series with the films and will show the early evolution of the Terminators.

Then Rope of Silicon have McG talking about the film that continually changes the plot and doesn't reveal that much, just that he's keen to keep the previous mythology going.

“Naturally, the first three pictures were contemporary with Terminators coming back from the future and this picture does indeed take place 10 years from now. That's the new beginning. It's reminiscent and very much honors the mythology and I've listened very diligently to James Cameron and for that matter Jonathan Mostow, and we're going to respect that mythology, but begin again very much in the spirit of what [Christopher] Nolan did with Batman.”

Okay, this is crazy, they really are all over the shop with this one.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has revealed he would like to appear in the new Terminator film.

The actor turned politician, who is currently the Governor of California, found fame in the sci-fi series and admitted he would like to have a role in the fourth franchise instalment, providing it shoots in his adopted state.

He said: "I've never had a dialogue with anyone about it. But if they shoot the movie in California, I would [be a part of it], yes."

The new Terminator film begins shooting next month under the direction of Charlie's Angels helmer McG. Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin and Moon Bloodgood are among the cast.

Let me guess.. because of summer glau? Personally i don't like SCC at all. Hell some are idiotic enough to even claim it is "far better" than the first 2 terminator films.

I only watched TSCC to see what they would do/add to the Terminator series. I'll admit I'm not a huge fan of the show though.

No, not because of Summer Glau. But because I wanted to see how a Terminator series could work without Arnold in it...

I agree, personally to me its crap and it makes me appreciate T3 ROTM(never really hated it).

But its ok to me that some people like SCC while some don't, but what is not ok is that hardcore idiots say SCC is better than T1 and T2 because to be honest , ROTM is far greater than SCC personally.

I'm guessing so, although it's unlikely that the CSM-101 will. I'm not a fan of the one in TSCC, but that could because it's been shown using rubbish CGI.

The ones(t-888) in TSCC are very stupid and very incompetent. Remember cromartie taking the class attendance? He had the PERFECT opportunity to kill john connor but he was stupid enough to just blow his cover by pulling out his gun rather than try to sneak up on him, hell i recall the older model CSM-101 in T1 was much smarter to try to get his way to sarah connor.

BTW you have no idea how stupid some people are on the IMDB scc boards, they claim that both leana heady and thomas dekker are better actors than linda hamilton and edward furlong / nick stahl.

Hell SCC sucks to a point where it is absolutely NOTHING like the 3 terminator films, SCC sarah connor is a soccor mom and nothing like the original sarah connor(whom is a very intimidating women with the biceps of a marine) and the SCC john (whom is well behved gentle men and a whiny b!tch who whines "he can't run anymore") as opposed to the original john whom is a street smart kid who swears at every sentence.

And i don't get it, why does so many people hate T3? After watching T3 and some SCC, i still picked T3 over that worthless show SCC and even rottentomatoes gave T3 a really positive above average score.

And seriously, what the f*ck is so great about SCC? oh right summer glau because thats the only reason i see why some ignorant teenagers like this show, but ill admit it, shes really cute.

I bet some(if not most) of the ignorant fools would really love T3 labelling it "zeh best t movie" had the casted summers as the T-x.

Some teens these days are VERY ignorant and some are VERY stupid.
