Ho! Ho! Ho! to the bottle I go
To heal my heart and drown my woe.
Rain may fall and wind may blow,
And many miles be still to go,
But under a tall tree I will lie,
And let the clouds go sailing by.
yeah me neither excpet within the soundtrack when they included elvish in almost all of the lyrics

IMO, the Poems are actually brilliant, songs are good.

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
that washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Grey as a mouse,
Big as a house,
Nose like a snake,
I make the earth shake,
As I tramp through the grass;
Trees crack as I pass.
With horns in my mouth
I walk in the South,
Flapping big ears.
Beyond count of years
I stump round and round,
Never lie on the ground,
Not even to die.
Oliphaunt am I,
Biggest of all,
Huge, old, and tall.
If ever you'd met me
Tou wouldn't forget me.
If you never do,
You won't think I'm true;
But old Oliphaunt am I,
And never lie.
have to admit, first time I read the books, I read all the poems and songs. BUT, ever since, when I re-read them, I always skip past them (apart from some of the more interesting and meaningful ones).
I try to find it too because it's really nostalgic and all... i will tell you if i find it! or oooow... i will try to put subtitles to watch the movie! Maybe it will work...

[A Drinking Song by Merry and Pippin]
Can't believe none of you have mentioned the most famous one in the book.
The road goes ever on and on
down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And wither then? I cannot say.
