Did you know that this never really changed. From the Sword of Superman story, to the Golden Superman Prime to the Cosmic Armor. Superman is the reason why DC and Marvel and all the other Superhero Comics exists. So this Omniversal Superman concept goes beyond the border of DC comics. Superman is the source, the power behind every comic company.

Superman is the only reason comics exists. Without him there would be no marvel. Superman started in 1934 and Marvel only got their foot in the door 5 years later and their start was the Human Torch. So their only competition was a Human Flame vs The Man of Steel.

It also works retroactively. The story of Hercules, Sampson et all is due to the multiversal, omnilinear nature of the Superman mythos.
