1. Yeah, he’s not worried about mace, he’s worried about Anakin, turning him. I think it’s well implied Sidious played the Jedi...I mean he winked at them while they were dying, mace just stood there letting it happen?
2. Not always true, Obi wan and others grounded Dookus lightning, it seems only Yoda could absorb Sidious lightning, just barely, he even got his saber knocked out of his hands at one point. Windu said this is beyond Vaaped n how he’d be overwhelmed

1. That means Sidious is still afraid.
2. Dooku's lightning didn't continuously assault Obi-Wan's defenses. The Force lightning threw both Yoda and Sidious.
Vaapad is a mental state and not your strength in the Force. He just lost his Vaapad focus.

Sidious most certainly did allow Mace to win that fight; ive illustrated several points from the film alone that points this out but im going to post a link that will shed even more light on this subject... if you have the time to read it that is;
