DDM seems like you agree more with the republicans than democrats.

But can someone explain to me what carbon emissions have to do with the coronavirus? Or reports about pay equity?

It doesn't just seem that way, it is the truth. I readily admitted to falling for the Dem bullshit media machine.

And it has nothing to do with it. It is why Ron Paul strongly opposed earmarks and things like that. It is why he and his son so routinely vote no against so many bills. If every congressman voted no on bills that had stuff in it that was not related to the point of the bill, they'd stop sneaking shit in.

I understand, and boy do the democrats come off like people who put identity politics before country instead of putting country before party like they claim.

On March 22nd the New York Times posted a story...they changed the headline *three* different times. The first headline:

"Democrats Block Action on $1.8 Trillion Stimulus"

This was then changed to:

"Democrats Block Action on Stimulus Plan, Seeking Worker Protections"

Which was finally changed to:

"Partisan Divide Threatens Deal on Rescue Bill"

Holy shit these people are the enemy. This is propaganda.

GOP: "If we don't give corporations $500 billion, Americans will lose their jobs."

Dems: "Which corporations need the money to keep people in their jobs?"

GOP: "SHUT UP!"

Dems: "What analysis are you conducting to tell if these are companies affected by the pandemic, or companies taking advantage of this situation to cover up their own earlier mismanagement?"

GOP: "SHUT UP!"

Dems: "Let's put in rules to make sure these companies don't use the money to goose their stock price."

GOP: "SHUT UP!"

Dems: "What rules are we putting in place to make sure this isn't just keeping CEO and senior exec pay up?"

GOP: "SHUT UP!"

Dems: "Given that you are refusing to let anyone have any oversight, and Mnuchin will just personally select which companies gets money, how do we know this won't just be distributed to corporate friends, Trump companies, and campaign contributors?"

GOP: "SHUT UP!"

Dems: "What methods will be in place to make sure that these payments aren't simply means of allowing certain corporations to avoid drawing down their own cash reserves, and whether they might use taxpayer money to pay stock dividends?"

GOP: "SHUT UP!"

Dems: "Particularly given that large corporations have dramatically more access to the private credit markets than small businesses, why are they getting more lenient terms for receiving cash than small businesses are?"

GOP: "CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS—I mean, SHUT UP!"

There are lots of ways that the GOP could be managing this "bailout" if they really meant for it to be money for struggling companies that otherwise would have to lay off workers. But they won't do any of it.

Why? Because they plan to hide the terms of corrupt deal until after the election. They have no standards for who gets money, what their financial condition is, whether these are good-old-boy gifts, whether money will be needed to benefit employees, or whether money will be used for that.

If they weren't going to do this corruptly, they would have no problem with oversight, with transparency, with establishing financial standards for distribution, making big donor—I mean, corporation's deals no better than small business.

Why won't they? Because this has nothing to do with "jobs." If it did, this would be handled differently. But it's not.

And by the way, the GOP, as always when big donors get in trouble, want to be choose which industries survive. Ya know, socialism.

But they call helping working Americans socialism.

But what do reports about pay equity have to do with this virus?

Of course politico has made it clear Schumer has been working on a deal with Mnuchin in the Senate to bring to a vote today as well.

quote:
Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said that they are "very close" to an agreement on a nearly $2 trillion coronavirus economic rescue package, raising the possibility of a Senate vote on the legislation as early as Tuesday.

https://www.politico.com/news/2020/...799?cid=covid_m

Amazeballs, Schumer actually has a say in the Senate bill, you wouldn't believe that the way it has generally been reported....but hey corona virus threats mean green deals to the rescue....derp.

It's over:

Pelosi folded.

We are good to go with the bill. She'll inject her identity politics and corporatism into another bill, in the future.

Is this part true:

"According to the New York Times, Senate Republicans unveiled a package that would provide hundreds of billions of dollars in loans to big corporations and small businesses, large corporate tax cuts and checks of up to $1,200 for taxpayers. However, the plan would place limits on a paid-leave program enacted this week in response to the crisis." -snip

"The Republican plan proposes to send checks as large as $1,200 per adult to individuals earning less than $99,000 per year. According to the Times, “the payments would phase in for earners up to $75,000 — meaning lower earners would get smaller checks — and then phase out again at $99,000.” Those who did not earn enough to pay income tax would receive $600 checks." -snip

^ That's socialism, Trumpers.

It feels like I'm watching a cooking show and two contestants are competing to see who makes the best tasting shit sandwich.

You're just pissed off that since you're unemployed and already taking government benefits, you probably won't be getting a check. Than again, you might be able to shit-weasel one regardless.

ps Enjoy your socialism

It really is horrendous. More and more it highlights the need to break the two party system.
