MOS was good with its fair share of problems.
I despised it. To each their own.

It was visually pretty awesome.
Great fight scenes, Krypton looked fantastic, and Cavill filled out that suit. But my God it was just too damn dark.
TBC I didn’t mind the Kryptonians being dark, or the Military being on alert over the whole alien thing, or even Pa Kent being hellbent on Clark not exposing himself.
It was Superman being dark.
He should have been the bright light of hope that all that darkness couldn’t dim.

It was a different take. We still have the Christopher Reeves and Brandon Routh films if thats more to your liking.
But they had to try something different after Superman Returns flopped. And whatever you think of the film, fact is it was the first Superman film to make profit in a long time. So WB probably made the right call taking that risk.

It was a different take I didn’t like. The Reeves movies are fine (when viewed w. nostalgia), but I also didn’t much care for the Routh movie, which was too slow paced and soap opera-y for me.
Different in this case didn’t equate to better for me (though I at least give it props unlike many), and I’m not alone on that or it wouldn’t be such a divisive movie, that begat such a divisive franchise.
Whatever I think of the film is all that matters, as I don’t see a dime of the profits; I don’t work for WB.

Couldnt they have just given them him a beard instead of erasing the moustache?

iirc Snyder originally had him bearded post-resurrection, but Whedon/WB changed all that.
He doesn't have to worry about moustaches anymore though, so who knows what they'll do.

Campea is throwing a Scoop out there that Cavill might be staring in a J J Abrams Superman movie.

It read the pitch for the last Abrams movie. It sounded bad.

Hopefully Cavill is getting some input.
Just glad theyve decided to give Supes another chance. Was pretty sad keeping him locked up in limbo.
