DIRTY DANCING: HAVANA NIGHTS (2004): Starring Diego Luna, Romola Garai, Sela Ward, John Slattery, Jonathan Jackson and January Jones. Screenplay by Boaz Yakin
and Victoria Arch. Directed by Guy Ferland. PG-13. Running time: Approx. 105 mins.
Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights (PG-13, 2004) — The Latin music and dance are the
main reasons to watch this routine girl-boy from different cultures and classes love
story.
The two leads, Diego Luna and Romola Garai, show some spark, but the time-worn
plot overwhelms them.
The dance routines are splendid and the music, especially if you have a decent
sound system, will make you want to join in.
And for fans of the original movie, Patrick Swayze has a cameo to stir your memories.
The widescreen digital transfer is vivid and sharp.
The Lions Gate Home Entertainment DVD is filled with extras, most of which have to
do with the creation of the dances and the musical selections for the movie.
Deleted scenes and a making of ... featurette also are offered.
