Guillermo Del Toro In Talks For 'The Hobbit'

Guillermo del Toro is in talks to direct back-to-back installments of J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit," which is being co-financed by New Line and MGM.

Del Toro's name was on a short list of directors who could tackle the project, one of the most anticipated literary adaptations of the past decade. An ill-chosen director for "Hobbit" could put billions of dollars at stake for New Line and MGM and could turn off an audience that encompasses millions of passionate readers, Tolkien fans and obsessive geeks.

Good movie, however one little thing that I noticed that the monsters roar was a little different than it was in the previews, other than that the movie was very good.

All my respects to Mr. Del Toro, but peter Jackson has afar more suiting approach! After all, his guidance got the LotR movies those record-breaking Oscars..why change him?! Is Holywood not tired of the long list of fiascos already?

Haha, yes, vacations never seem as much fun as they suohld, especially if there's a long plane ride involved. I want to visit Australia and New Zealand someday, but the thought of spending that much time on a plane has kept me from making it happen thus far. It's good that you got to see your dad and catch up though!
