/Legally Blonde/ is a charming tale with the moral that one shouldn't judge a book by its cover.

Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) is a classic air-headed sorority girl blonde. Her boyfriend Warner Huntington III (Matthew Davis) is a classic air-headed self-absorbed loser. As he is accepted into Harvard Law School, Warner dumps Elle, telling her that she's not smart enough for him. To prove him wrong, Elle applies to Harvard, gets accepted, and shows that there lies a formidable brain beneath the blonde hair.
I have always argued that complex traits such as intelligence are highly context dependent. This view is epitomised in /Legally Blonde/, where Elle uses her extensive knowledge about superficial human creations, such as fashion, to her advantage in the "real world".
The cast in the film do a good job. The pacing is tight. The script is well-written and there's a lot of humour in the film. There's not a lot of innovative stuff happening, but the movie is produced meticulously. /Legally Blonde/ contains a feel-good story that makes for a great date-flick. I definitely recommend checking it out. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- email@urls || http://www.ram.org || http://www.twisted-helices.com/th Movie ram-blings: http://www.ram.org/ramblings/movies.html
