Rhys Ifans Eyes 'Serena' Role

Rhys Ifans, who plays the villainous Lizard in "The Amazing Spider-Man," is in negotiations to join Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence in Susanne Bier's adaptation of Ron Rash's novel "Serena," which has also added Lawrence's "Hunger Games" co-star Toby Jones.
Story unfolds in the mountains of 1920s North Carolina, with Cooper playing a timber baron and Lawrence playing his wife Serena, who battles the government to save their lands and engineers the murder of her husband's illegitimate son.

Yeah, it's another oiirgn story. This goes back even further when Peter was a small boy. The problem here is that all of the Tobey Maguire films are still so fresh in everyone's mind that this new reboot is going to suffer a lot from the been there, done that' issues. Obviously, this is going to be a darker Spider-man film than Sam Raimi's and I don't think that is a bad thing. Andrew Garfield is ok as Peter Parker, but people need to understand he is going to be nothing like Maguire. This appears to be a more serious' film more dramatic. The 3D is going to be great though that's for sure.
