After watching this movie I thought sadly that our government is very corrupt, even to the point that human life and morality means nothing when it comes to the price of money, and power. I also thought of the whole [sha bang] of the Iraqi war and the real mission the US embarked upon to invade that country...OIL. So the next time we become so patriotic we really need to ask ourselves what are really patronizing? I guarantee you after you watch this movie, it will certainly rise your political conscience, and it might even indulge your very thoughts of vigilantism.

Writer Antoine Fuqua take us down a horrible path of corruption, betrayal, deceit, vigilantism and dirty politics in his adaptation of Stephen Hunter's novel Point of Impact. While Shooter is a well-done action packed motion picture, it's a movie that touches our political senses. Mark Wahlberg is the lead actor in Shooter, a young actor who certainly makes a name for himself in his best and slam donk of a performance in 'Shooter".

His portrayed role as an ex marine and sniper who gets caught between a ruthless timetable of governmental greed, politics, betrayal, and murder all adds up to a good action packed film that audiences will enjoy. Danny Glover and Ned Beatty also provide stunning performances that are very appealing to audiences. Shooter offers a good plot, well written script that skillfully balances itself to a very successful and entertaining movie along with a very good ensemble of cast members that provide good performances, superb stunts, electrifying sound and special effects, extraordinary scenes of gunfire, and crafty military combat that is very exciting to the human eye.

In this movie, Mark Wahlberg portrays Bob Lee Swagger an ex Marine and the army's best sniper hired by the CIA to stop the assassination of the US President. When the assassination goes amuck Bob Swagger becomes a wanted man by the FBI and CIA his life on the run becomes an illuminating adventure when he discovers he's been set up, framed and wrongfully targeted as the assassin. His mission to reveal the conspiracy and felons of the assassination leads to his plans to expose the corruption and atrocities committed by the government that betrays him.

As this movie goes on we learn that Swagger goes on a personal mission to not only expose the atrocities and corruption of the US government but to expose its present invasion of an African Country where the lives of its citizens are expendable and mean nothing to the US goals of occupying, land, building oil pipelines and exploiting the country of its oil. (Sounds like our crises in Iraq don't it?). His one-man war against the FBI and CIA ends in a surprising climax that will shock you.

Final Thoughts

I've pretty much expressed my thoughts about this movie. Again it's an action packed movie with an excellent plot, and script. Mark Wahberg provides his best acting lead role in Shooter. The entire cast provide very good performances that very appealing. Shooter is a good action movie that keeps its audiences glued to the screen with excitement. If you enjoy good action movies with themes of this sort than you'll enjoy shooter very much.

Shooter gets three and a half stars for its outstanding action scenes, script, plot, and acting by Mark Wahleberg.
