RATING (0 TO ****): *

"Dogcatcher!" is what the loathsome sexists at the KOK fraternity yell out when a girl whom they deem unattractive dares to come to one of their parties. As soon as they spot one of these "dogs," they bring out a big fishnet to catch the girl and throw her out into the street. In Wallace Wolodarsky's SORORITY BOYS, this humiliation is supposed to be funny, as is later pseudo-politically correct humor when some of the boys realize the error of their ways.

The war of sexes hits a low point in SORORITY BOYS, a Touchstone Pictures film that opened and quickly died earlier this year. It's available now in your video store, where you'll probably soon find it for sale in the bargain bin.
Barry Watson (TEACHING MRS. TINGLE), Michael Rosenbaum (SWEET NOVEMBER) and Harland Williams (FREDDIE GOT FINGERED) play guys named Dave, Adam and Doofer who go incognito as gals named Daisy, Adina and Roberta. These cross-dressing clowns end up being asked to join the DOG sorority by its big-hearted, liberal leader, Leah (Melissa Sagemiller), since she is a strong supporter of
diversity.

Even though the picture is rated R, there is little nudity. Instead they mainly keep the humor at the smutty level of crude conversations. More natural nudity might have added a little class to a movie that had none.

Once our misogynistic guys find out how mistreated gals are, they become their buddies and supporters. This means they get to share intimate conversations such as discussing with them their "first time" -- first time shoplifting, that is.

Most bad movies have at least some redeeming features. SORORITY BOYS isn't most movies.

SORORITY BOYS runs 1:33. It is rated R for "crude sexual content, nudity, strong language and some drug use" and would be acceptable for older
teenagers.

The movie is available now on DVD and videotape. I was disappointed to find out that the DVD doesn't have any deleted scenes since I was really curious to see an example of a scene worse than the rest of the movie.
