Starsky & Hutch (PG-13, 2004) — The big-screen adaptation of the 1970s' TV series
could be called, "When Starsky Met Hutch," as it explains how the two became partners.
This lively, comedic action outing contains the usual suspects of extras: deleted
scenes, gag reel, a commentary track by director-writer Todd Phillips, a Huggy Bear
fashion show, and a witty making of ... mockumentary in which cast members Ben
Stiller, Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn and others continually backbite each other and
complain how they hated working with each other as well as Phillips.
For fans of the TV series, also available this week from Columbia TriStar Home
Entertainment is Starsky and Hutch: The Complete Second Season, a five-disc set
featuring 25 episodes, some directed by stars David Soul and Paul Michael Glaser.
And don't forget that super cool Gran Torino.
