Synopsis: When Quoyle, a widowed New Yorker, relocates with his daughter and his aunt to the small coastal village of Killick-Claw, Newfoundland, it takes some time for them to adjust to their new life and surroundings. Quoyle's job for the local newspaper has him reporting on the shipping news, and the pace of small-town life forces him to confront his private demons. As he does so, he falls in love with a lonely, single mother who adds variety to his and his family's mundane world.
