Fox Goes Out To 'Club Dread'
[Thursday, June 20th, 2002]Fox Searchlight Pictures is going to "Club Dread" with the Broken Lizard Comedy Troop, reports Variety.
Deal calls for the six-member group to write and perform in a comedy set at a Club Med-style resort.
Project marks a return pairing of Lizard with Searchlight following a respectable $18.5 million domestic performance by "Super Troopers" earlier this year.
"Troopers," acquired at Sundance for $2.5 million, ranks as Searchlight's fourth highest grosser after "The Full Monty," "Waking Ned Devine" and "Kingdom Come."
"Club Dread," aimed for an August production start, will also bring back "Super Troopers" director Jay Chandrasekhar and producer Richard Perello.
