The grape and the grain

I find myself at one of those crossroads where I'm going to make a choice that I already know is a bad one.

Tonight I've already drunk 4 cans of lager. Now I'm all out and too over the limit to drive to the off-licence. The only alcohol left in the house is a bottle and a half of red wine.

The old saying goes "don't mix the grape and the grain", but I have no other choice.

Except that one about a bird in the hand being worth two in the bush or whatever it is. Thats just plain nonsense. 🙄

it's something like the one you have caught in your hand is worth more than the ones there are out there still for you to catch. The catching thing does all the difference 😉
