AC, have you seen Men Behind the Sun? A Chinese film about the Unit 731 atrocities. If not, watch it. It's amazing, horrible but quite good.

Anyways, I'd probably go with Kubrick.

Some of the stuff they did is almost literally too disturbing to think about.

Yet, it's not out of possible realms of imagining it. It's just like when a child pulls the wings off a fly just to see what would happen. Except this was doctors impregnating women only to perform vivisections and remove the foetus.
