The Iliad is the Greek Homer's story of the siege of Troy- that is what this film is based on. Odysseus is one of literature's great heroes in being one of the first who had a brain rather than relying on being a super-powered guy (like Achilles).
The Odyssey is the story of his voyage home that Homer also wrote.
The Aeneid is an unfinished story written much later by the Roman Virgil. It details the story of a Trojan Prince, Aeneas, what he was doing when Troy fell and what HE did when he fled afterwards.
All part of the same continuity.
I didn't go to college, nor would one study Greek or Roman literature in an English Literature class!
I did Latin.
Aeneas was a minor character in the Iliad as Homer wrote. Virgil makes him the prime hero of his work and subsequent leader of the Trojans (as Homer suggested). So there is plenty of room for him to be in thee- he is Hector's cousin and he even fights Achilles at one point (impressive to be alove ater that- no-one else ever was)
But they won't do it.
