Italian info needed

Hiya folks, I'm researching Italy's problems with sticking to the EU social policies at the moment, can anyone help? I've checked out the EU website and some others so far, here's what I need info on: -

Apparently "The European Court of Justice has found repeatedly against Italy for illegally discriminating against migrant teachers", I need some proof of this to build an argument for an exam.

Any help would be great, I've just thought about looking at teachers union websites so I'm off to check them out.

Mech. 😄

if you say so....

Not a lot there either, maybe its a trick question.... 😕

At fisrt that is what I thought. Now I just don't know.

Hmmm, maybe I haven't gotta find proof at all. Maybe I've got to actually talk about social policy and its effects on the economy and...

Awww nuts, this is harder than I thought. 🙁

Oh God.

Ok, what;s the time limit on this? If I wasn't feeling so lousy I would give this a go now.

Sorry, hun, I'd luv to help yeh ... I'm in Italy right now, but never heard about this 😖

Italy is so beautiful, but the people drive like crazy!😱
I hope that helps Mech😛

and they are corupted as hell down there, and "Berlie" is the capo

Well thanks Tex but I won't be putting that in my report. 🙄

My exam is on 3rd Sept Ush. The question has a letter from a Brit teacher working in Italy and he accuses them of being a rogue National where social policy is concerned. I think I may just have to quote the employment regs within the social policy rather than discuss Italy's fines.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
😛

The best I could find is this:

“Foreign language teachers from Spain, Germany, and France have sued Italy under the freedom of movement clause (Article 48) for failing to provide the foreigners with the same benefits as Italian teachers. The specific complaint is that, under Italian law, working mothers are guaranteed 80 percent of their salary for five months after birth, with employers paying the remaining 20 percent. Italian universities pay the 20 percent for Italians, but not for foreigners.”

Doesn;t help you, Mech, but might give you some leads if you can find any copies of David Petrie's speech

And a counterblast against Petrie here:

And if you can find the sources this guy used, it might help

And a useful link to another case, with LOTS of useful links.

Wow, if I need homework help, I'm asking Ush😄

Actually, Edna used to get me to do research for a load of her uni work...

No offense, but people in America drive sllloooowwww, so timid . You have to be a little aggressive

I don't know, I've never been to Italy, though I'd like to to see the sites...
