Hail to the voyage
-------------------------
Well then here we are six years later (seven for some of us ;-))
We started this voyage as bunch of brats.
We thought we could take on the world
We thought we knew everything about life.
During this voyage we changed, evolved
From being that bunch of brats to young adults
And whether we want to admit it or not,
School experience made a lot of it possible.
We spent most of that six year voyage there
We didn't always enjoy it, and eventhough
We do not always want to admit it
We didn't always hate it aswell.
The voyage taught us that school is
About more than studying, about more than listening
That it is about finding out who you are,
Rather than who you want to be.
Although most of us were about the same at the start
None of us are the same at the end of the voyage.
We all changed maybe you're an optimist,
A pessimist, a realist, a dreamer, a romantic...
Ofcourse school alone did not change us
Everything changed us: we changed eachother,
Our friends changed us, the world changed us...
And they all changed with us...
In the end what did we get out of the six years of travel?
A more openmind and a broader horizon?
The knowledge that the world is much larger than we once thought?
The fact that we are all different?
Or maybe the voyage isn't over yet,
And then we must ask ourselves will it ever be over?
Do we want it to be over? I can not choose for you,
But I don't want it to be over
Then maybe I didn't dislike school as hard as I thought I did
