After spending a good ten mintues beating the crap out of Cyclops, Cassandra sat on the ground to catch a breather.
Since Scott was too weak and tired to move, he continued to lay there and pray that this woman would like him alone soon. Scott had clearly underestimated this group, and her.
'Since Nalia isn't here, might as well get down to business...' Looking down at Scott, Cassandra slowly brought her bare hand over to the side of his face. Before she touched his skin and speaking in a near whisper, "Sorry, that I have to do this...don't worry, I won't be long." The doctor tried to comfort the man, while she herself was getting over the fact that she was a doctor and not tending to him.
Getting over the thought, Cassandra quickly placed her hand upon the side of Scott's face as soon as possible to get this over with. As her eyes began to glaze over, the two's breathing began to slow and even as she searched his mind.
Images began to flash across her now closed lids, like watching a movie, but inside your head. Cassandra saw memories of when Scott first found out he was a mutant...coming to Xavier's...meeting jean and falling for her...feelings of jealousy....then the death of jean... Seeing images of the dead man's lover, brought tears to her eyes. But, this pain was not her's, she was just feeling these emotions through Scott. Feeling that she had seen enough, Cassandra quickly moved her hand away to her lap. As her vision cleared, she saw Scott sit up and holding his head.
Kara appeared next to Cassandra, staring sadly at Scott. Kara knew what happened. She knew the nightmares he had evry night thinkingof his dead lover. She knew he would be put through absolute torture if she used her power against him. Sighing, she backed away from him. "Scott, never say that I'm evil. I will show you mercy right now, but never forget that i have the upper hand."
After seeing him squirm once more, Kara said, "Ok. come here." concentrating hard, Nightmare soothed him into a peaceful sleep. "good night."
Cassandra stood up, so that she was standing next to Kara in adult form. Aside from the things she saw in Scott's mind, she was truelly crying now herself. With tears running down her cheeks, Cassandra wrapped her arms around herself to brace herself from the grief. "I feel like s**t..." she whispered to no one in particular. Her knees felt weak, "He had so much grief to bare and hide in that heart of his..."
