to pass on your genes to do so we acquire things like house, cars, flash/money and jobs to attract a mate and take care of the future offspring.

doing these things may bring you a small amount of happiness however fleeting it may be.

Why do we need these things?

we dont need these things.. but, we live in a society where we no longer have to struggles as much, which leaves time to gather more frivolous stuff to attract the mate.

once shelter, furs, food and being strong and healthy was enough the bonus was also being intelligent.

now ppl want to out do each other in a status driven society.. basic needs are no longer enough to the point the mundane over shadows the rest... which is kinda nice and also sad.
