it was pretty funny when i was a kid and found out that some one had put piranhas in a public lake..

now not so much... good thing they cleaned it up they only manage to kill geese and whatnot

it was on the news and they pulled one out which started the investigation when i was 14 or 15, i saw it. plus the city closed the lake for clean up.

Had the same rumor floating around when I was a kid, about someone dropping in piranhas in the water reservoir and they bred.

Last I heard, there actually was a single foreign species of fish pulled, it was a Red Belly Pacu, commonly found in home aquariums. A relative to the piranha, but not nearly as aggressive. But this could have been a rumor on top of the rumor.
