Yes, very true, but we also take classes that relate public speaking to our careers. Like I will be taking another class where I give presentations about math topics. And I did the same for a physics class. Plus teaching a class.

I'll have essentially taken speech 3 times. I should probably be a better public speaker than I am.

my plan, house-wise, is to get a nice house, then turn the biggest room into a library for my books

Those are two snazzy ones to have in one's collection! I don't believe I've read either though.
