It just takes practice. It's not always easy to put what you want to say down into words on the screen or paper. Really, the best way I think is to just write something similar, then go back and look at it to see what you can change or revise and just pick and chose which words best describe what's in your head. It's pretty tedious, sometimes, I know, especially when you have no idea what you're trying to say or make happen in the first place.
